Hello!

So, I have a Toshiba laptop, and according to the aptly named Can You Run It? website, my setup can actually run STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

My specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-64
2.7 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics (0x9613)
88.3 GB free disk space

So, my question to you is, can it really? If so, awesome, as I didn't realize you could do much of anything with a laptop. If not, oh well.

Yeah, not a problem. I assume you mean an HD 3100 though.
I'm not sure about that. The site says my system can run it on the recommended settings, though.

"Recommended: 256 MB DirectX 9c compatible card/ nVIDIA GeForce 7900/ ATI Radeon X1850
You Have: ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics (0x9613)"

Make of that what you will, I am but a console peasant <__<

Has to be HD :p there's no other ATI card with 3100. the radeon started with the 7000 series.

You can run the game no problem, I promise XD Maybe not full dynamic lighting, but it'll run.

Awesome, thanks!

So, generally speaking, Can I Run It? is accurate, yes?

Well, if it detects hardware, yes. Most minimum specs just list hardware.

But I wouldn't take anything it says as law or something. Like...I don't want to see an angry thread later about how it said (and I said :x) you could run it, but it doesn't run and blah blah general anger and rage.

....Also, I've never used it XD so I can't say for sure.

generally although some it recommends specs are good, and they dont run well (HL2 Mini 10v) and some are below that run just fine, but for the most part it is accurate.

idk how it really works, it just runs some system analysis thing and tells if you can run it on minimum, and also if you can run it on recommended settings. But games cost money and I just wanted to double-check to see if actual people thought it would work.

You know, assuming you're an actual person and not an android or something ;P

Yeah, you shouldn't have a problem running that game, as the posters above me have already stated.
Do you have to have a mouse? I have this touch pad thing down pat, but idk if it would cause some obscure technical issue, or if I'm fooling myself about my skillz <__<

That site has been pretty good to me as far as letting me know how well I can run a game. In theory at least. In practice... most modern games don't run very well on my aging computer. :(

Well, I'm considering the first game, so I'm hoping they've patched the heck out it.

They have but it still has it's fair share of glitches... like enemies falling through roofs... glitchy rag doll physics... invisible enemies...I found this one glitch where I loaded a save and it took me to an area with just a single house in the middle and invisible walls all around...

get the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. complete 2009 mod it fixes a lot of the issues and smooths out the engine much better... also adds a lot of nice touches like day and night cycles, wheather cycles and more balanced weapons...

It's generally accurate. To be honest, I've had things the other way around (it said I couldn't run something, and I could run it pretty well).

Get Complete 2009 then, but that does ramp the games requirements up a bit, also SoC is the best to play.

A much, much better site.

Gives more accurate readings it seems, to me anyway.

Yeah, I've got every patch, both community made and official and have never encountered a single bug with the first in the series.
I checked it out, and it seems like it wants to sell me things <__<
But I've only just glimpsed at it.

Lol. Lots of ads, yes.

But I find when CanYouRunIt? says I can or can't, but I'm sure it's opposite, I check YouGamers and the latter is always right.

CYRI? said I couldn't run Crysis on minimum settings. Lo and behold I can run it on max XD
It's not the ads, it's all of the friendly upgrade suggestions that make me suspicious <__<
