So i figure one of my two computers has been hacked or has a virus or something or another because apparently my wow account was hacked (not that i care much i stopped playing it about a month ago, more power to the guy who spent 15$ to sell and disenchant all my shit for fake money to sell for real money)

ANYWAYS i'm not sure if they just got lucky with my wow account or my computer has been compromised so...

Can anyone suggest a good anti-virus or something for me to use. I highly doubt i even have one on my laptop

Its too late. Back up, reinstall, THAN install an anti-virus, than pull you're back up data up after scanning it.

Thats the safe thing anyway. Otherwise, Norton or PC-cillin.

I use Webroot. I actually just finished renewing my subscription. It's fairly decent, since I have no problems and often explore highly virus-infested sites (im like a freaking jungle explorer, man o_O).

Anyways, I recommend it if you've got some $$$ to spare.

Well I've heard good things about Avast. Never used it myself though so I can't really comment that much on it...

Probably NOT a virus if all that happened was you lost your WoW account.

Those are easy to hack by social engineering such as guessing your password (narrow down to 100 variable and try them all), tricking into you revealing your password or some other low invasive trick. Sometimes as simple as "I forgot my password" and they simply got in through the reset system. Wow account get hacked all the time.

but if you're worried about viruses get AVG:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVG_%28software%29

it's just as good as the paid for anti-virus, run that. Trust me, it is overkill to do a cold re-install if a virus scan 9with updates0 reveals no virus and your system is still runnign fine.

Bottom line is you have to educate yourself on how to go on the internet safely and how to manage the resources of your PC including installed programs etc

Next time you go to look at porn, put a condom on your hard drive. Your computer won't get an STD.
