Can we please calm down about the new DMC game? (Yes, this is a rant.)

If there's enough to like about a project, then there's enough to hate about it.

My only problem at this point is directed at the gameplay, which seems very, very sluggish and imprecise when being compared to Devil May Cry. Everything else ranges from tolerable albeit exceedingly silly to intriguing.

I'm not even bothered by the changed character.
...
Actually, sorry, I'll change that: I wasn't even bothered by the changed character until I saw a picture of Tameem.

Sorry, changed again: I wasn't even bothered by the changed character until I saw a picture of Tameem and until the angel/demon thing was revealed.
Otherwise I'm fine with it.

However - my main problem with DmC: The Reboot Prequel Retcon Funshow boils down to two simple words: Combat Mechanics.
There is literally no way that the Ninja Theory team will be able to match any of the previous games' mechanics - and that isn't just the blind hate of a fanboy based upon their previous combat-orientated efforts. The Unreal 3 engine simply cannot handle the kind of precise on-screen action that the DmC games are renowned for - even if I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the NT combat folks.

So what its wrong that people criticize the direction of this game? I bet the people praising the changes to series don't bother you at all despite not having played the game also. If you like DmC fine but don't try and force others to not criticize something just because you like it.
In all honesty, I don't really care if people hate it, or even if they like it. What's pissing me off is how aggressive they're being about it. It's not fair to the series they claim to love and it's not fair to the people working on it. But I wrote all that in a bout of frustration, so I can see how I can sound hypocritical looking back at it. So my apologies, but I still think they should atleast give it a chance.

All the dante changes/unnecessary reboot shit would be fine, if the gameplay wasn't a million times worse. Seriously, it's regression in every sense of the word. Even worse, it's regression for the sake of casualization. This is a series renowned for it's fast-paced gameplay. When the fucking Devil Trigger changes from something to make you incredibly fast to something that just makes everything around you slower, you know whoever is handling the game is handling it wrong.

Oh, and there are only two stances. There not even stances. They're weapon changes, which were already in the old games. Yeah. Innovation to the max.

Oh, and to add to that, no combo meter either. Yeah, apparently it will be indicated by "sound".

This game will be a piece of shit, just like everything Team Ninja has ever touched outside of their one good series, Ninja Gaiden.

Also, since they added this "half-demon/half-angel" bullshit, I'm calling that there will be a moral choice system.
So, I take it you've played the game, then! Team Ninja must like you quite a lot to give you a private beta, even though they're not even making the game. Please, thrill us with the exploits of suck that you've experienced firsthand!

Oh, and can you tell I'm being sarcastic?

I was actually talking about the general complaints directed at the game, the thread just set me off. And yeah, I know I worded the whole "New Dante" thing badly. I was pretty pissed while writing this, so sorry about that.

Everything I posted about has been confirmed by Ninja Theory (thanks for that fix, whoever you are. I always get the two confused), except for the one part which I said was pure speculation.

You are an asshole, by the way. Just because people choose to be pessimistic for something that you are obviously excited for doesn't mean you get to be a sarcastic prick. Seriously, I've seen enough of the trailers to make an educated guess on the game. Pretending like those changes will work in favor of the game is stupid.

Why can't we tear something a part before it comes out? I think fans of the series should be a little disappointed. Remember when Green Lantern came out? Remember how pissed the fans were even beforehand? Assuming things that look like shit will be good is avoiding the truth, and you know it.
