I've been cooking with my family since I was a tiny little thing, and I'm willing to say I'm decent in the kitchen. My father and brother are the improvisational types though... they can take a recipe and turn it into something totally unique without too much thought.
I can make a lot of simple but filling recipes (Mexican and Italian as well as plain ol' American dishes are my specialties), and bake very well. My secret pride is my biscuits and sausage gravy recipe... and my chicken enchiladas with sour cream-green chile sauce.
