Punch whoever the hell you want, but accept the consequences.
There's a lot of sense in this comment, although my own, less combative position has been something more like:

'Don't punch anyone, then you don't have to deal with the consequences.'

Obviously if it's a matter of literal self defence, then yeah, OK, but generally I've found that life is so much easier if you just shrug things off and walk away.

in a sue happy country, i think not. (im assuming you are in one.) (if your below the legal age (ok i dont know what the hell they call this anymore) of being punished, then this doesnt matter.)

And punching a teacher is never a good idea unless of course there's extreme circumstances or theres something you can use to keep there mouth shut(aka them attacking first, attempted rape something like that) else be prepared to fail that class (if the teachers in a good mood) or be expelled if you do.

To be quite honest its never a good idea to hit some unless under extreme circumstances, or you know they wont go crying to the authorities because they lost a fight and want to get you done under assault, teachers are no exception.

if you really want to do something to someone do it 'accidentally', for example i once slammed a door on a teachers face, this was due to him being a pedo.

unfortunately he wasn't convicted of it but i know for a fact that some of the alligations were true, don't ask how.

or go for a childish trap... there humiliating, cheep and easy to get away with if there's no cameras, for a low key example tie a rape alarm on their office door before they goes out, barrel of laughs, and they get shocked to hell and well other effects ensue, like there colleges asking what the hell is going on, and if there familiar with rape alarms checking said teachers office.

You can, but remember the number 1 slacker rule: Why do anything that you can pay someone else to do for you?

Teacher would have to get violent first before I'd hit him/her, but once they threw the first punch I'd be sure to throw the last one.

It´s not ok to punch anyone, that said i have punched a lot of people.
Some more deserving than others.
I have got punched, again sometimes more deserving than others.

People puches all the time, it´s more a question of time before one of those punches gonna end up in a teachers face.

You can´t punch someone for beeing a teacher, but you can punch that same person for beeing a douchebag, just don´t do it at school, AND don´t go to his house either, police won´t like that.

Just wait for a random encounter and strike, preferably when you don´t go to that school anymore.

2 things to keep in mind here. "sit by the river long enough and the bodies of you´re enimies will come floating by" and the classic "revenge is best served cold", icecold 20 years later. Learn how to hold a grudge. :)

The obvious power imbalance in the law regarding student and teacher are for good reasons. However, a blanket policy is just a clumsy answer that punishes people who did what anyone would have. Seriously, in Disturbia, I would have beat the teacher until someone physically made me stop. Punching him once in reaction to being very obviously being goaded into doing so shouldn't be punished.

Also, in a more likely scenario, if a teacher ever tried to hit a student......have at it kid. Neutralize that threat as the law would state it.

Basically, no. Get over yourself. Only in the context of where punching is an act of self-defence, as is the right granted to citizens of most states in this world.

You can punch a teacher as soon as you graduate and as long as no one's looking. I had a teacher I wanted to punch her in the ****, but passing her class was revenge enough.

I punched a teacher once. During PE the teacher sent us to go get some equipment when we were looking for them we found boxing gloves and started mucking around with them. It was bad timing on his behalf he walked in the door as I took a swing at one of the other kids. Amazingly he didn't get pissed off at me and instead complimented my punching ability.

For an insult? No, not really, unless it was intentionally directed at a student and intended to harm or insult said student.

Otherwise...I dunno, I've been hit with a ruler by a teacher, and promptly grabbed the ruler and started hitting back. So for being hit, if you know you didn't do anything particularly deserving of being hit, then yes, I believe it's fair.

I see no reason why not. There are sadly situations that only violence can solve, whether its due to emotions running high, or a matter of self defence. Strange as it may sound, a good punch can do wonders from a clearing the air perspective.

To the OP: Was the choice of a teacher here just because of the recallable scene or for some other reason? Seems a little odd to me that you'd seperate out a group from the rest of humanity for their profession, but I could just be overthinking it.

I'm not a fan of violence, so no. I don't think I could ever punch anyone unless it was self defense.

If a person is doing something that deserves a punch then they aren't worthy of their station of honor anyway. I've met some narcissistic, shallow, obnoxious and ignorant teachers in my time, someone having the balls to whack them one and knock them down a few pegs is probably doing them a favor.

A teacher is a position just like everything else, it's the person behind it that counts, we can't draw a conclusion on someone based on they're job alone.

Were Templers in the right to do what they did just because of their position?
