nah, you dont need one nowadays. i for one use cold fusion reactor for all my "energy-stuff" things.

of course you can get one. most pc building sites offer pre-built pc.

the way i see it, pc building is for more enthusiastic pc gamers. different games have different needs. for example, you dont need ultra powerful gpu for grand strategy games, but a good processor can help.

also, pc building is easy - you just need to learn it in a responsible manner. i for one learned pc building by buying pre-built pc, then changing its gpu. then i changed ram. then i changed cpu and motherboard. just take it step by step and its a lot easier.

another thing, to qualify as "real" pc gamer you have to remember that there are very strict requirements.
one, you need to have a pc.
two, you need to play games on said pc.

i know, its a lot to ask from novices, but those strict requirements have made us the elite that we are now ;)

I'll second what others have said about it not being as difficult as it seems to build a PC. All you really need to do is buy a book on it, of which there are many available. There are also some online guides which could be just as good, but when I built my first PC I liked having a book. First read at least some of the book/online guide, then go ahead with ordering components.
