Hiya escapists.

Just recently, I was reminded of a melody. It's got a certain spring morning feel to it, and I think it's been used in a lot of animated shorts. And I think it's played on the flute.
However, I can't remember the entire melody, nor can I remember the name of it. That's where you guys come in: Can you help me?

(And no, it's not Morning mood by Grieg)

The beginning goes like this, if I'm not mistaken (It might be the wrong key though):
3/4 beat, I think.
|: A[sub](3/4)[/sub]-B[sub](1/8)[/sub]-E[sub](1/8)[/sub]-A[sub](1/8)[/sub]-♯C[sub](1/8)[/sub]-E[sub](1/8)[/sub]-A[sub](3/4)[/sub] :|

The letters are supposed to be individual notes, not chords. I figured it was the only way I could write music notation in the forums. The numbers in the parentheses signify how long the notes are.

If you know the song, please help.

The problem is, that in terms of pitch, the musical scale wraps around. Are all the notes apart from A higher than A, or lower than A, or a bit of both? And are all the notes within the same octave?

Also, your timing doesn't add up to 3/4 (assuming your timing denominations are fractions of a beat). Something's wrong there. Or I'm interpreting it wrong, but the way you've written it is very confusing to me.

If you could write it out as proper music notation and then scan it, and post the image, that'd be better.

Damn, thats right. Lessee...

A [sup]B[/sup] [sub]E[/sub] A [sup]#C[/sup] [sub]E[/sub] A

Does this make any sense at all? Just imagine there are lines there as if it was musical notation. You know, [ sup ] is a higher note, [ sub ] is a lower note.

^^ For what it matters, I don't have trouble hearing the melody in my head. Can't help OP though, don't know it.

That solves the pitch problem, thanks. Still got the timing issue though.

Uuuummm...

It's 4/4 it would seem. You okay with reading it if I write it with a bass-clef?

It's the second one in the post above. Maybe. I know that gets used constantly in cartoons etc. to depict summer and peacfulness etc, it's the classic 'unsuspecting naivety before the shit hits the fan' song.

Yeah I can read any clef.

Either of these?

That one it was. Thank you. My annoyance of the day has been taken care of.

Looks like there's no need to write out the notes for you now. Problem solved.

Edit: Now I've got a note sheet with a bass-clef scribbled randomly on it though...
