4) No.
5) Mainly every day a little bit, when I have time.
6) No. Atleast I'm not retarded enough for it to have effect on me. If someone kills someone because of a video game, then they already had something wrong with them.
7) No, absolutely not. Just because I see no purpose in it. There are other types of media too.
8) Well, the advancing visual effects do make the blood more realistic. Older consoles had games in which blood was just spots of red, but things have changed.

3) Commonwealth of Dominica
4) No
5) Up to 1 hour a week
6) No. As mentioned above, young people should not have access to M rated games.
7) No. Video games are a form of art and media, and while more interactive than say, Saving Private Ryan or Pr0n, they should still receive the same levels of restriction as other forms of media that depict things we generally don't want children/people doing.
8) I've been playing the "new riddick thing" lately and I managed to stab a guy in the eye with a screw driver and then jab another guy five or six times in the ribs, all in very personal first person perspective. I don't recall the chainsaw scenes in Doom being quite that graphic and violent. Yes, they are getting more violent, as is cinema and television, and the graphics are able to depict it more realistically.

Differs from day to day, but average I'd have to say 5, my ocational insomnia keeps me up so a lot of gaming is done at night
6) Do you believe that violence in video games has an effect on young people and the crimes they might commit?
No, there is far more going on that isn't being noticed, video games are not the sole reason
7) Do you believe that violent video games should be banned? If so, explain why.
No because it is blatant hypocrisy and a double standard to allow violent film, books, ect.. and then single out a single medium to ostracize
8) Do you think that video games are getting increasingly violent?
unfortunately yes

Thanks very much :) No problemo

4) Athiest. Believe in ghosts slightly though, just to be weird.
5) Daily, for at least an hour.
6) I cannot find any actual proof for this. Most of the kids on the "news" who go on to commit violent acts supposedly due to videogames, all seem to have some other slight detail about them, like being insane. My little brother and his friends all play the odd violent game, and they're not violent people. I played violent games too and I'm extremely pacifist.
7) Censorship is a horrible horrible thing. For starters, banning something is extremely ineffective and only servers to make the banned object more appealing and, amusingly, tends to give it much more attention. In addition, come on, governing bodies... give us some credit... We can make our own minds up when it comes to what is appropriate or not.
8)No, not really. For as long as there have been videogames, there have been violent counterparts. Anybody remember that Hardcore Pong? Batting a disembodied head back and forth. Crazy.

4 yes

5 semi-daily

6 only on the very feeble minded with no self-control. but i also believe that if it isn't video games it will be movies or magazines or real life that will expose them to violence.

7 yes and no. I think violence is about the same, but it's getting increasingly more realistic because of the advancements in graphics technology.

Boxing isnt banned and thats REAL violence. Anyone in America can get a gun, its one of their rights.
Levelled off i think, we have kind of reached the limit in the gore-fest genre.

4) In a way yes I believe there is something that is bigger then us perhaps aliens perhaps a supernatural being but I believe there is more then just us cause we kinda suck.
5) Daily I have no idea the average depends on what is goin on.
6) meh not really playing with a controller and actually shooting a gun or beating somone up are two very different things. Unless its a wii then thats just a mass murderer training tool haha.
7) Nah to ban something is censorship which is bad mmkay. to caution people that it is violent is perfectly fine but to stop anyone from playing what someone other then the consumber considers "violent" is wrong.
8) Violence is violence I was shooting people in marathon I was shooting people in half-life I was shooting people in call of duty. Setting is different graphics are different idea isnt.

I just realized how dumb it is to type out explanations since this is a survey haha.

5) around 2 hours a day
6) Absolutely NOT
7) No they should not be banned because they are also an art form, such as theatre, movies, or paintings. Banning them would also go against the whole "free speech
" thing.
8) Sorta kinda. It depends on who makes them.

5) An hour a week. More in the summertime or on holiday break.
6) No, correlation does not equal causation. Violent people are attracted to violent games. However, if you're competitive, you may let it get out of hand and get into fights and what not.
7) No, just put a better age rating system in place and police it.
8) Not exactly. There are more violent games, but the good-to-violent game ratios probably about the same. Games like Custer's Revenge (I believe that's it's name) came around way before GTA did. The graphics are getting better though, so it seems more gruesome.

But I have a question for you; will you be my friend?
