I'm in college now and went to a public school for high school. So I doubt I'd be of any help to you. Plus, I would assume that this would more apply to the UK over American citizens.

Also, go Chelsea!

Never get your results off an internet forum, or any other place on the internet. trolls are inevitable.

Go buy a bag of fun sized candy bars for bait, then stand in front of your student union; you'll be finished in no time.

The Escapist is the only place on the Internet I would've done this. The people here are nice and I haven't seen a troll on here for ages.

1) Co-ed. I guess that means mixed.

2) I'm from Scotland so 4th year which is your uh. 10-12 I think.

3) Are you happy with the gender make up of your school? Yes.

4) What are your opinions in regards to the two other types of school that you do not attend?Uh, I don't really bother with other schools near me, that's just stupid.

5) Do you feel any pressures at your school relating to gender stereotypes? No.

6) Please explain your previous answer. Uh, well, I don't feel pressured to be all ladies first, I am just a polite person all round.

7) Which type of school do you think would be the worst when it came to gender stereotype pressure? All boys, all girls or co-ed. All boys.

8) Which school, if any, do you think would achieve better marks academically? (ie. Does separating genders improve work quality? Uhm, well. Usually All boys and All girls schools have more money put into them right? So I guess them, but mostly for the money reasons(I may be wrong)

9) Girls who attend and all girls school are promiscuous. Do you believe this statement is true? Please explain your answer. Uhm, That's a bit grouping together, some may go out at night and do that thing, some might not.

10) Boys who attend an all boys school have a higher chance of being homosexual. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer. No, because it doesn't work like that, your either gay or not, some people are influenced, but they wouldn't be influenced by living in a sausage farm.

11) Boys who attend an all boys school are more sport oriented then academic. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer. Uhm, well. Possibly. Although as I said, that's grouping people together.

12) Boys work better with girls in their class because girls keep them calm. Do you believe this is true? Please explain your answer, Uh, I am usually a calm person and when i'm working with a girl I might get a bit distracted, trying to be funny and all that jazz.

13) Why do you think you parents chose to send you to the school you are currently attending? Was gender a contributing factor at all? It is close to me, my mum and dad went their as a kid, no gender factor at all.

14) Is there any extra information you would like to include? Well, I don't see why you would want to send your kids to an all gender school, that might make them feel awkward around the opposite sex or something, maybe they want to protect them or something or see it as a distraction but it's not effected me in school.

edit: I attempted to do it, it might be a bit iffy at times.

First off, I "graduated" (or Survived, As its called here in the UK) in 2005, so im going to have to answer in past tense.
1) What type of school do you attend? All boys, all girls or Co-ed. [/B] I went to a mixed school.

2) What year group are you in? Junior (7-9), Senior (10-12).[/B] ...I graduated.

3) Are you happy with the gender make up of your school? Please explain why/ why not.[/B]
It seemed to be a fair mix, With around the same number of Girls/boys. I think if anything it may have been 55/45 mix, But im not sure as to which side had more people.
4) What are your opinions in regards to the two other types of school that you do not attend?[/B] I dont really have an opinion, Although i suppose in an all guys school there would be less "bravado" to impress the ladies, As people try and do when they're 14+

5) Do you feel any pressures at your school relating to gender stereotypes? (ie. Do you feel
like you have to act a certain way because of your gender?)[/B] ...I dont remember anything like that, Although i didnt envy the gay kids.

6) Please explain your previous answer[/B]
Well whilst still being children, one of the insults was that you were gay, it was an insult. to be one of the really feministic boys (not talking from experience, but there were some feministic guys in our year) was to be seen as a form of weakness.
7) Which type of school do you think would be the worst when it came to gender stereotype pressure? All boys, all girls or co-ed.[/B] Mixed. Bravado comes in, And humalition/top dog primal urges come in.

8) Which school, if any, do you think would achieve better marks academically? (ie. Does separating genders improve work quality?[/B] Possibly, Individual gender schools probably had less hormonal distraction then mixed. I know when you get to "that age" you do start noticing skirts....if you catch my drift.

9) Girls who attend and all girls school are promiscuous. Do you believe this statement is true? Please explain your answer.[/B] No, I dont. I think that they may be naive when it comes to guys, But it depends on their parents, and how streetwise they may be.

10) Boys who attend an all boys school have a higher chance of being homosexual. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer.[/B] Ahh shit, I was hoping this question wouldnt come up. Personally, Yes, I think its got a stronger chance, Just because when a guy reaches "that age", if there is only guys around, he may decide to "jump on the other bus" - although Its not scientifically proven.

11) Boys who attend an all boys school are more sport oriented then academic. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer.[/B]
I wouldnt say so, They may strive to physically be stronger than the other boys (more boys = More competition, But what would be the prize? Self Satisfaction?)...But there will always be nerds.
12) Boys work better with girls in their class because girls keep them calm. Do you believe this is true? Please explain your answer[/B]
No, Because everyone has been sat next too their crushes in high school, If anything it can be a distraction as your lower brain is making you say/act stupid.
13) Why do you think you parents chose to send you to the school you are currently attending? Was gender a contributing factor at all?[/B] I was sent to a mixed school because there was only mixed schools near me, We go off Grade averages, And i was sent to the best school in our area (Shiney-est turd)

14) Is there any extra information you would like to include?[/B]
...Apart from the fact that i survived High school, and wouldnt like to ever go back.

-----

Hope that helps!

5) no not really

6) i only really interact with a few people so i just tend to act as i would normally

7) all girls wold lead to the greatest stereotyping imo

8) i wouldn't think so

9) no, i would assume they would diverge into multiple catergories

10) again no, i would assume its a lifestyle choice that is unaffected by the environmental stimuli

11) no, i would assume they would diverge into multiple catergories

12) i wouldnt say calm, i would more go for trying not to act like a prick, especially if there is a girl they like.

13) doubt it .. more convenience than anything

14) I'm BATMAN ... shhhhhh

Thanks guys, I know there have been a lot of these threads, but I really need some more completed.
1) What type of school do you attend? All boys, all girls or Co-ed.

Mixed gender.

2) What year group are you in? Junior (7-9), Senior (10-12).

Year 12 in Britain but we spend a year in school earlier than Americans so it'd make me 11 in the American system.

3) Are you happy with the gender make up of your school? Please explain why/ why not.

Yes. Pretty much 50/50 right down the line.

4) What are your opinions in regards to the two other types of school that you do not attend?

I don't really have an opinion, they're not better or worse in my opinion; however apparently people concentrate better when only with their own gender.

5) Do you feel any pressures at your school relating to gender stereotypes? (ie. Do you feel
like you have to act a certain way because of your gender?)

Nope, not at all.

6) Please explain your previous answer

I don't personally feel any pressure to act in a certain way but there are a few girls with the stereotypical 'I'm so fat' and so on despite being thin enough to blow away in a light breeze.

7) Which type of school do you think would be the worst when it came to gender stereotype pressure? All boys, all girls or co-ed.

Girls perhaps, all boys would just be endless jokes and banter - girls probably do nothing but spread rumours about every one else; get jealous etc. etc.

8) Which school, if any, do you think would achieve better marks academically? (ie. Does separating genders improve work quality?

I've heard separation improves concentration for boys, not so much for girls.

9) Girls who attend and all girls school are promiscuous. Do you believe this statement is true? Please explain your answer.

Teenagers will shag one another just as much if they're separated in schools or not.

10) Boys who attend an all boys school have a higher chance of being homosexual. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer.

I don't think so; there's no reason why homosexual students would specifically choose a male-only school - they probably wouldn't want to reveal it to anyone anyway and gay guys seem to find it much easier to confide in girls anyway.

11) Boys who attend an all boys school are more sport oriented then academic. Do you believe this is a true statement? Please explain your answer.

It depends on the type of school, sometimes it's just a good school that only accepts guys, sometimes it's one of those schools that's just a zoo with shiny distractions to keep the apes in line.

12) Boys work better with girls in their class because girls keep them calm. Do you believe this is true? Please explain your answer

From what I've read that's false, boys concentrate better without girls in class but when working together I wouldn't think it would make a difference.

13) Why do you think you parents chose to send you to the school you are currently attending? Was gender a contributing factor at all?

I wanted to go to the school I currently attend because it's a very good school academically.

14) Is there any extra information you would like to include?

Nope.

1) Co-ed.

2) Uhhh dunno? I'm currently in the last year of high school. Grammar school that is, so, six years. Combined with the eight years of "basisschool", that'd be 14 years. You figure out what that is.

3) I guess I'm happy, never really thought about it. It's not like there is a girl shortage. Not at all, actually.

4) It's kind of ridiculous not to let boys and girls mix. I don't see the point in it.

5) Hellz yeah. That's how these things work. I feel the pressure, I just ignore it. Because in my opinion it's stupid and if I acted in certain stereotipical ways I'd be very much a dickhead towards both my male and female friends.

6) See previous answer.

7) All boys, I think. Girls are generally more sensible and less thick. But then there's the whole "Queen Bee" thing which is also a very unhealthy social system, but I believe that's quite rare. In general, girls are just more likeable.

8) I do not think it does improve work quality. I know firsthand though, that girls work harder and more organized than boys, because their brains develop in a different way and speed then male brains, and that's why girls do get better marks most of the time.

9) Perhaps. And perhaps not. I know lots of girls whose partners are not on the same school as theirs and yet they have just that - a partner - and don't have sex all around. So I think not.

10) Hah! No. This sounds pretty ridiculous, since everything I know about homosexuality implies that it's 'determined' at the moment of conception, and by the combination of genes. The environment has got nothing to do with it.

11) Don't think so. Boys play sports because they think it's fun or because they want to impress girls. When there aren't any girls they can't be impressed, so I'd expect less sports playing.

12) Girls keep boys calm? When did this happen?

13) Because it's the best I can do and the best their is, and it keeps virtually every option open. The best possible combination. Gender was not a contributing factor. At all.

14) Uh, it's been a pleasure working with you?

I don't know a single boy who plays sport to impress girls >.>

And every single guy I know plays sport.
Of course no one says that. My brother goes to the gym regulary, do you want to know why? Because he wants girls to drool all over his muscles. Does he say that? No. Is it true? Yes.

It's how humans work.
