I'm ridiculously clumsy, so of course I don't mind laughing at myself, the problem is that I don't really laugh, even when I find something funny I keep a somewhat bored serious demeanour so other people can't tell that I'm joking, but I'm pretty sure that a lot of my posts on this site are making jokes about myself, so no I don't particularly mind, though I do get embarrassed quite easily I don't mind making jokes about me even when I'm embarrassed.
[sub][sub]Ok, maybe people can't detect my jokes because I'm also pretty awful at telling them.[/sub][/sub]

Self-Depricating Humor is all I'm really good at for being funny. I'm an easy target, least of all to myself, so why not make fun of me?

Someone on the Escapist called me a prick awhile back, and I thought it was funny (It's true, why not laugh?), not laughing at yourself only shows you are insecure with yourself, and while I am insecure with myself, Why not make fun of that too?

Oh definitely. It's pretty much standard for a group of friends in the UK to rip the absolute piss out of each other on a daily basis. It's hilarious.

I haven't fallen off a chair for ages now. Sure I could laugh at it anyway...

Funny how "falling off a chair" is shorthand for "laughing at yourself" because it is almost the most embarrassing thing you can do with your clothes on.

I am a moderately silly man that does silly things, and therefore, tends to laugh at his silly self quite often. I'm not always aiming to get a laugh out of people, but when it comes at my misfortune, I just laugh it off and move on.

I love to laugh at myself. Within my group of friends that's how we all get along, just taking the piss out of everything we do and stand for.

I will admit I don't enjoy fat jokes as I'm fit now and people keep bringing it up -______________-

It is?
Well then my life must be pretty embarrassing then, since that happens quite often.

It's one of the few things I can do. I don't mind a joke at my expense as long as it is actually funny rather than just plain insulting

I have to, it helps me get through some of my most embarrassing moments in life, especially when I'm drunk... then I get depressed... and then I laugh at that.

I think if I didn't laugh at myself and my self-disappointments and shortcomings, I wouldn't be able to get other people to laugh so easily. Also I'm sure I would be more miserable than I am now.

Captcha: "higgledy piggledy" ... Well okay then.

Ahhh the UK.

I love our country.

It's the only place I know of that can have a book released called Crap Towns and then have so many complaints from people not having their town included they have to release Crap Towns 2.

And now a Crap Towns 3 is being put together.

And I do indeed make fun of myself. In fact, its my one good quality.

Yup, pretty much that...
That is a clip from my favourite movie of all time.
I love you man/woman/whatever.

Yes, I laugh at myself all the time, the only form of humor I enjoy more that self-deprecating humor is so dark it absorbs light.

Non-stop.

When I showed a friend the "Let Me Hear Your War Cry" video (my avatar), I joked about never getting a girlfriend. I tripped over a vacuum and face-planted, and I burst into laughter. I nearly set the soldering station at school on fire, and... well, how was I supposed to react? I laughed at my fail for about five straight minutes.

It helps that when I fail, I usually fail in a truly spectacular manner.

Of course, and I do it all the time.

Self-depriciating humor is typically what I'm good at, and if you can't poke fun at yourself, then you take life too seriously.

If I did something spectacularly stupid then I sure as hell am gonna take advantage of it and crack a joke about it.

I don't mind laughing at myself, though I'd generally rather not have the entire internet laughing with me.

The thing is, though, people who don't know me very well always think I'm making self-depreciating jokes at myself or that someone's insulting me when someone makes a "lol, Erana's asexual&aromantic" jokes.

My default humor is cutting retorts and sarcasm.

Problem is, not many people are amiable to that. So it works best when I turn it on myself.

Then I get "Oh, that's not true. Don't say that about yourself."

Apparently my humor is fail.

But yes. I laugh at myself all the time. Like how I put the milk in the cupboard the other day. And found it hours later.

Of course I can laugh at myself; I'm fucking hilarious.

In all seriousness I actually fell off my chair the other day, and, well, I laughed.

Well it does star my favorite actor...

Anyway don't want to have post completely off topic so I'll expand on my earlier post... Whenever I used to be insulted (which is all the time) I got depressed but now I figuer it's just easier to go along with it and laugh with them...

Maybe some Pratchett will help answer this question?

"Is that the big city on the Ankh? Sprawling place, smells of cesspits"

It has an aincient and honourable history," said Rincewind, his voice stiff with injured civic pride.

"That's not how you described it to me," said Twoflower. "you told me that it was the only city that actually started out decadent.
Rincewind looked embarrassed. "yes, but, well, it's my home, don't you see?"

Oh yes, people in the UK and perhaps other countries are quite happy to laugh at themselves but may god have on the man who tries to laugh at us.
