Can you play PS3 games online with people on the computer.

Quick question. I have a PS3, just got it, never palyed online with it. My friend has MW2 for his Mac, if I buy it for my PS3 can we play over the internet or is multiplayer only between PS3s?

Didn't Shadowrun have that option? Don't know if it works with a mac though. Anyways it's really rare for games to do cross platform.
