can you switch between GTA IV lost and the damned and the regular GTA IV

I recently bought GTA IV and I thought the game was pretty good so I decided to get GTA IV:lost and the damned DLC now what I want to know is can I play the lost and the damned but switch back to the regular GTA IV and play as Niko.

Yeah all you have to do is pause in the menu look for load and find your previous GTA4 game , that or start new and then select GTA4 as it would have likely erased you r save file to add the new stuff in

I'm not sure... i overwrote my GTAIV file when i saved my TLAD file... i'm not sure if i can access my original GTAIV game

Don`t think you can as the game automatically deletes your gta4 file when you download TLAD

When you select the 'New Game' in the options, you can change between Nico and Johnny at any time. The only thing that's overwirtten is the autosave (the game that is loaded when you start GTA 4).
You can save the game in up to 10 slots when you sleep in one of your safehouses. These ones won't get erased when you switch the game (you can load the savegame in the options menu).

so when you save the lost and the damned it creates an entirely seperate save is that correct.

As long as you use a bed in one of your safehouses you can choose one of ten slots to save the current game in. So it's possible to have one slot for Nico's and another for Johnny's story. Just don't get a heart attack when you start the game as it automatically loads the last autosave
