This is one of the most disturbing things I've read in a while... and it happened about five blocks from where I live. Quick summary for those who don't want to read the whole article:

Yesterday in Montreal, an apartment building janitor found a disembodied torso in a pile of garbage. Police later found a blood-soaked mattress, a hand and a foot in one of the apartments. The same day, in Ottawa, the head office of the Conservative Party received the other foot in the mail, and a package containing the other hand was intercepted - it was addressed to the Liberal Party. The murder and dismemberment was filmed and posted on the Internet. The killer is a gay porn star who was suspected of posting videos of himself killing kittens, and allegedly sexed up serial killer Karla Homolka.

This is seriously fucked up.

Yeah I read that in the KW Record today. This is some serious stuff, dismembering a body, posting it on the internet and sending the different pieces to different places. At least he didn't send anything to the NDP!

1: be deemed not criminally responsible for some stupid reason, be put in an institution, and he will be out in 2 years since he is "cured" and on medication

2: If he is deemed criminally responsible, it probably wont be for first degree murder, it will be for 2nd deg or manslaugter. And if it is first degree, he will still only be in for 25 years.

Killing one person does not make them serial killer. The last serial killer in my city killed 5 and injured 9 others. I don't really pay attention to murders in my city since they happen at least once or twice a week but most are just shootings.

Can't say I'm exactly for harming animals though, thats pretty immature. But rest assured he'll be caught eventually, unless he knows how to control himself, which most cases like these the perpetrator does not. The present government made some pretty sweeping reforms to the justice system this year, as well as stacking the Supreme Court with sympathetic judges. IMO, it is unlikely that the murderer will get a lenient sentence.

If I personally witnessed someone killing or torturing defenceless animals, I would have to beat them with a soild piece of steel, criminal charges be damned...at very least a broken kneecap would be morally warranted. Genuine psychopaths who are compelled to carry out such acts should simply be treated like the violent monkeys they are..nothing human about 'em.
