I didn't search bar this but its recent and I haven't seen any forums about this topic come up so I figured its fair game (If I'm wrong then my bad, post anyway)
1st off, I'd like to say that being from the states I'm not an expert on what is going on with Canada at the moment and the extent of my knowledge of this topic comes from 2 guys that I subscribe to on youtube.
For those who don't know: Recently some corporation in Canada has decided to put a cap on bandwidth usage. Once you go over a certain number of gigabytes (I've heard its either 25gb or 75gb) and when you go over the cap you have to pay something like $2-$4 per gigabyte.
For non-computer literates this means that as you use the internet it uses up gigabytes of bandwidth and any form of video on the internet eats that amount up fast. Youtube, Netflix, even Escapist will burn your bandwith.
Being in the states I'm obviously not affected, but it scares me because if it can happen to the USA's top hat then it could eventually happen here. I live on the internet and having that happen to me would kill me.
So to Canadian Escapists: Did I get my facts straight (probably not) and does this (the cap, not my wrong facts if any) bother you?
To non-Canadian Escapists: Does it worry you, like me, that this COULD possibly happen to you at any time?
TL;DR:
Bandwidth cap in Canada. It sucks. Worried it could happen in states. Discuss.
EDIT: Turns out there was a news forum post that I missed.
