i bought a computer, i picked the parts, they put it together

with the CPU it came with an Overclocking service, the CPU ius an i5-760 Quad core and was originally supposed to be 2.80GHz, but they overclocked it to 4.GHz

now i keep getting a Bsod, and i have been researching ans it says get rid of the over clocking as that may be the problem

now i know you have to go into BIOS settings and whatever but i dont know how to actually cancel the overclocking

Can anyone help me?

also im using Windows 7 64bit.

I was in a similar position. I kept getting 0x0000007F stop errors. After running a few memory checks and ruling out various hardware, I decided to delve into the BIOS.

It turned out that the maximum safe multiplier for the CPU had been exceeded and was likely causing the instability. First I reverted all hardware settings to their failsafe values, then after deciding it was far too slow I put them up to the maximum safe values (This was a preset on mine, I've no idea about it otherwise) now it performs pretty much the same as it should and I've not seen a single BSOD since.
