Reaper might be cancelled(my favourite show), my second favourite Life has been cancelled. I am pissed, Life is a great show but NBC never advertised it. Reaper is on the CW which is pretty well a guarantee it wont last long unless it is a black 'comedy'.
I hope they don't cancel it anytime soon it's funny as hell and CW usually has stupid shows like Gossip and 90120 which means there's a good chance it might get canceled
It has already been cancelled, it could come back next year but without Sock, which I don't know If I would want even.

Here is a full updated list of all primetime shows: http://tv.ign.com/articles/978/978224p1.html

Ah, Moonlight. It started as an Angel ripoff, but quickly became much darker in tone. Whereas Angel had his no-kill rules, Mitch had no qualms killing if he thought it best solved his problems. Even his human love interest sent a man to his death for the crime of being a paparazzi. I thought the show was just starting to hits its stride when it was canceled. And it's a shame, especially since most supernatural-based shows need time to develop their audiences. Too bad no one seems willing to give them that time.
It was "Mick" btw, lol. But seriously, I was upset when I heard about the cancellation. But at the same time, I wasn't totally shocked by it (See the rest of this thread). It wasn't until I read what was replacing Moonlight that I really got pissed. I can only hope that CBS sees the error come this summer and might revive it, but somehow...I doubt it.
See, this is what happens when I type without thinking. I knew it was Mick. Don't know why I typed Mitch. Oh well.

Yeah, I never hold my breath for revivals. Jericho pulled it off, only to be canceled twice as fast. And I never watched that show they replaced Moonlight with, but the premise sounds pretty horrible. Why do so many female-centric shows revolve around finding the right man? Not all male leads need a romance plot, but it seems necessary for women. Don't networks know there's such a thing as happily single?

It's just stereotyping, "market research", and demography. The TV world loves and will forever defend its "statistics", and will stand by them long after the TV audience has naturally evolved. And like others have said, its all about instant gratification. They want money and they want it now. Networks don't think more than 1 season ahead, if even that. I was too young to know, but I wonder how popular the super-long-running shows like ER were in their first season.

I'm gonna have to go with Sarah Connor Chronicles and Jericho, even though Jericho got an 8 episode reprieve to keep people form sending CBS nuts in the mail every day you can tell by watching those episodes it was just a mad dash to tie up all the loose plot threads and end the series as quickly as possible.

Dexter is still going right?
I dont watch TV but I buy the Series on boxset if I like it, and Dexter should never be cancelled... ever.
Yes, it's just in between seasons. I can't wait for it to start up again. That and Weeds are the best shows left on TV.

What really perplexes me is that some crap shows like CSI and Law & Order get tons of spin-offs and stay on forever. Do that many people really watch that crap, or did they just get a lucky time slot?
Law and Order appeals to the most mysterious of demographic, "the little old people" demographic... first they had Matlock and now they have Law and Order.

There's talks of Reaper being cancelled. On the day this happens, there will be murders.

Otherwise, all the shows I like, House, Lost, Dexter, South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Two and a Half Men and some others are still going strong.

Well, sometimes its good to end something good before it gets bad. I used to love the Drew Carey Show it was the funniest sitcom I've seen and watching older episodes today will give me just as big a laugh as the day I watched them, even more infact because now that I'm older I get the humor more. But then I guess the creators ran out of ideas or just decided not to be funny anymore. So sometimes its good to end something before it gets bad.

That being said I do have a few of my own. Now having not seen the entire series, I might be over reacting but I really wish they hadn't done away with Deadwood, it was (and I'm quoting here) Shakespeare in the mud, with interesting characters and brilliant dialogue.

Even though they ended the series with a decent finale I still miss Megas XLR, possibly the greatest thing to come to Cartoon Network's Toonami and when it was cancelled thats when Toonami declined into the trash that it is today. Megas was a simple show, a gamer named Coop from New Jersey finds a giant robot mech that was accidentally sent to his time and a soldier tries to retrieve it but ends up being stranded with Coop along with the aliens that she's been fighting. It had great action, music, and comedy that made reference to a plethora of nerd culture (especially anime) and every episode was entertaining. I at leastwant a box set DVD collection!

I'm glad Family Guy is still on. But to be honest, it's definitely not what it used to be. Lately it just seems to descend into constantly bashing whatever Seth McFarlane or the writers don't agree with: religion, George Bush, republicans etc. And even worse its not even an intelligent humorous stab, its uninformed and poorly disguised. But its still funny and I still love to watch it, contradictory as that seems.

I did not know this. I shall go into the shed and place a shotgun to the roof of my mouth and pull the trigger. Only to find I have not loaded it. I shall load it and pull the trigger. But it will jam. I shall try and drown myself only to find I have a superpower which means I do not have to breathe.

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, Reaper. I hope it doesn't get canceled.

these are all the reasons why i don't watch tv anymore, anything good will never have a proper story arc because it gets cancelled.

one show i wish they would cancell is Numbers... "we can find where he is by taking the diameter of his umbrella and divinding it by the angle of the sun at the time of the crime and that will give us the house number he lives at"
I call BS on that show

Stargate Mother-fucking SG-1!
Even though they ended the show with two movies I'm still bitter that Stargate is gone, same with Atlantis.
Uhm... both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis ended well after good long runs. SG-1 ran for 10 seasons (214 episodes) and 2 great movies that wrapped up the series brilliantly. After 10 seasons of playing the same characters, the actors just get tired and are ready for a change. Amanda Tapping was already filming her new series, Dean Anderson had already ducked out in Season 8, Davis died and they began to bring aboard the Farscape crew after their show got canned. No SG-1 was ready for its death.

Atlantis you might have argued could have gone on a bit longer, but 5 seasons is a good run for a sci-fi series, a sci-fi spin-off series at that. The series fanale was more than a fitting end for the series, I actually think it was better to end it before it got stale. When they started to go down the alternate realities theme, it sent up red flags that it was time to end the series.

Also, incase you hadn't heard, there is a new Stargate series in the works, Stargate Universe, so the lack of stargate won't last long.
