Well....I think this means I'm going to have to take candy crush off the ipad. I never purchased anything for it and I never planned to. I'm not sure if they're making anything from me from advertising but with this sort of spectacular dickishness, I don't want to support them in any way, shape, or form.

While I know Disney isn't exactly a paragon of anything, their Frozen game is basically CCS with some fun new mechanics and no ties to King. If you like the actual gameplay, it is a good alternative.

Wow, the King situation is surreal. the more you read about the the more blundering idiot supervillian they seem to be. And the more saddened i am that in real life supervillians get to be the kings.

It's unusual that a news story prompts me to immediate action, but as soon as I read this, I deleted Candy Crush Saga from my phone and I will encourage others to do the same.

Copyright law in the U.S. is a massive crock that favors the wealthy and powerful, and I hate it.

well Yesterday we heard about EA CCO saying simcity and battlefield weren't bad [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/132173-EA-CCO-Says-SimCity-Battlefield-4-Launches-Werent-That-Bad] so they are definitely working on it.

King.com is already sending out cease-and-desist letters based on their hope of winning. I don't know if that is standard practice or not. I'm guessing they can't actually take any real legal actions until the whole thing is settled.

Which brings us down to another problem, because under US law Cease and dessist letters mean that you MUST by law actually cease the activity of your game until you can prove the claim is false, and there is NO penalty for the false claimant. The time in which they must recognize your claim as false is 30 days, so they can do the same thing Nintendo does to youtube - send a cease and desisst, after 30 days agree its fair use then immediately send another cease and desists the next day, making the video available only 1 day per month.

I really want King.com to get some sort of failure I want something terrible to happen to those soulless fucks, but it's not going to happen, because that's the way the world works. EA blunders and makes some silly decisions, but I don't think they're out to ruin other peoples livelihoods... besides shutting down companies... never mind. Fuck, if they came together they'd make the Antichrist or something, like a fusion between Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

How exactly they count that i dont know, but even after the debacle we heard for weeks they are still mighty popular, so its failure is unlikely. The same way EA does not fail.
