Don't get me wrong, King sounds like a real twat in this scenario but the dead mother and whole "You are starving my children to death" thing seemed overly emotional. Then again, no-one is trying to take *my* intellectual property so I guess I can't comment on how emotional one should be in that situation.
Yes, how dare people be emotional! Its quite disgusting. I personally hate it when other people talk to me with emotions, or if I have to read something that has genuine emotional weight. In fact, its downright offensive because they are trying to manipulate me with their illogical concerns.
Your second point is correct, you don't know what its like to work hard on something and then have someone just take it from you, intentionally or no. I don't either, but I DO have the requisite level of empathy to understand that it's absolutely awful.
