Van Buren - everything that Fallout 3 should've been.

While I do love Fallout 3, I would also love to have seen how Van Buren turned out.

I think New Vegas will be much closer in tone to it.

Hasn't been canned.

I imagine it will be released eventually. At first everyone will winge about the screenshots we see. Then the trailers will show and they'll all be impressed. These boards will be a lit with people overjoyed once the game is released, with posts like 'At 55% downloaded, can't wait'. Then the next day 80% of posts will be about how 'overhyped' it was and valve will realise why they should keep to timelines on games which can't be 'too' innovative.

Good job, that was pretty much a flawless summary of the Valve fanbase as a whole.

Oh this one is easy for me. EA was developing a new FPS set in the Command and Conquer universe. It was called Tiberium. I'm one of the few who absolutely loved Renegade, so news of another C&C FPS thrilled me. The screens looked awesome, the trailer looked great. But EA canceled it...and now I'm sad.
