Consistent, reliable death metal. There are bands out there pushing the genre so much further but its nice to know you can always come back to CC for some quality, punishing death metal. When it comes down to it though, I'll take Dismember any day of the week.

Most death metal is good, has some form of quality music, good melodies, rhythm etc.

CC is fucking noise, it's not worth the bandwidth.

I love Deathcore/Death Metal Music.
Cannibal Corpse is an absolute insult to the genre. There the reason a lot of bands with intelligent things to say (err scream) are just passed off as laughable.

Salt The Wound, Whitechapel, Acacia Strain = Good.

Cannibal Corpse = Horrible.

I love Brutal Death Metal/Death Metal, but not so much CC.
Really now, you guys are forgetting who invented the genre in the first place.

I personally prefer more structured and intelligent music, but CC and similar death metal bands are preferable for taking breaks from thinking.

I prefer more of the modern Deathcore/Mathcore/Hardcore types, like The Faceless, Born of Osiris, and I don't know if they should be in this category, but Gojira is also choice. They have obvious roots in older death metal, but aren't just about the blast beats and doomy growls. I like my metal to have lots of chunk and breakdowns.

First off this guy needs to fuck off be less inflammatory in his comments.

Cannibal Corpse is a good band if your into that sort-of thing, which I am. Brutal Death Metal is really the hallmark of the Death Metal genre (of which BDM is part of) and is it's earliest counterpart. And yeah the songs have a hint of sadism in them, as do the lyrics, but usually CC's first vocalist has such a low gutteral that you can barely hear the lyrics, and really the same goes for all Death Metal vocals.

Does anyone like this band?

I listened to a few of their songs and... wow? They were quite..... interesting.

I remember on a TV show a few weeks ago they sand one of their songs like it was a cheery song with a piano, and the lyrics were odd to say the least.

So, does anyone have any comments on this band?
Cannibal Corpse has got to be one of the worst death metal bands around. It's all shock value; the gore, the lyrics. It's juvenile, immature, and uncreative.

Not only that, but its image is so rooted in the minds of the masses that everyone assumes that all death metal is this simple.

hahaha, Anything is good if your into that sort of thing. im not being inflammatory at all. I think that CC is one of the reasons people assume that all Death Metal is mindless gore music. no one needs to know your lyrics if the song is called Meat Hook Sodomy, to assume its a little messed up.

Good choice of words. "Interesting" is probably the best way to describe this band.

I personally can't take them because I feel like my head is going to expolde if I listen to that kind of death metal.

Yeah, CC isn't for everyone. In fact, it's not for most, but one thing is certain, they are not talentless. And at the very least, they were pioneers.

I know this band. Don't really like it. It's too hardcore for me.

I'll stick with Dead Poetic, Five Finger Death Punch, The Fall of troy, Anberlin, Family Force 5 etc...
