I cant seem to really get into shooters unless they have a ranking up system, it doesnt need to have a upgrading or reward system just a ranking up system. Reason being that when I try to play games like Crysis Wars and Unreal Tournament 3 it feels like no matter how much I play and do good I dont get rewarded for it and noting changes.

Anyone else like this?

you get rewarded by getting better and having an easier time having fun.

But I have similar problems... I have to do everything feasible in a game.. if I miss a single thing, I may start the whole game over.

I don't want to tell you how many times I've restarted playing DAO, Mass Effect or ME2.

I guess it depends on what you mean by level up. I played Ghostbusters and rather than level up, you upgrade your weapons. And I 100% enjoy games like Mario where you don't level up.

It's all in how it's implemented.

like a ranking system like Modern warfares just it doesnt need to have the perks or upgrading as long as it has a ranking up.

What's the point then? I mean, if you have the same weapons when you're a private as you do when you're a general, then wouldn't a ranking system be rather arbitrary?

Reward is being able to frag someone with the lighting gun from the hip during sideways movement.

It's not about some in game farmable measure of success, its about being the best player on the server.

Actually, I'm the opposite, I hate bonuses for getting better at the game.

That person already has the advantage of being experience, adding a bonus on top of that just removes the fun, even I if I'm the one with the advantage.

I have the exact same problem. I have started Fallout 3 again too many times to count and I have not finished it once!

Can you clarify? Do you play for single player or multiplayer? Two completely different Animals.
