Its kinda wierd but I cant seem to actually hate a game... Like no matter how buggy or wierd the game is I cant seem to make myself hate it. Like I always for years told myself that I hated Halo cause everyone loved it. But I always had much intrest in the game and so I never really hated the games.

Anyone else like this or am I just some odd ball person who tends to stand when playing games(Except for pc games.) :p

I'm the same. I don't really understand how a person can hate a game for a small reason. I understand if their is a big reason but I just keep playing them.

I think that's a bit odd. I like most games I play, but that's just because I only play games that I like, if you understand what I'm saying. I find it very easy to hate games.

If a game wants to be hated by me, it has to be console-stompingly frustrating or have a god-awful art direction. So it's not easy for me to really "hate" a game.

The only way I can hate a game is if it is broken in every sense in the word. Take the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance GBA and DS ports and you'll get a good idea of what sort sort of games I hate.

Heck, I even like Shadow the Hedgehog. So that should really give you an idea of how truly hideous a game has to be for me to absolutely hate it.

I can hate the fans but never the game, every game has it's merits.
I'm often heard calling Halo the worst game of all time but I don't mean it, I don't like the game, it's incredibly meh but I hate the fans that say it's the best game of all time ever and that other better games in the same genre are awful.
Me and my friends were at a disagreement when Halo came out, to me it was plain, average and boring, to them, the best game evar!
I however was playing Metroid Prime and singing it's praises, my friends came round and played it and thought it was the slowest, most boring game around.

It's obviously a matter of opinion but I've always hated it when Halo fans speak, alot of them aren't open to new things, my friends were but they would still rather blast things than solve puzzles...meh

I don't hate games I own in my collection. Like never.
They just don't suck for me.
I have Beijing 2008 and I like it, for example.

Play Superman 64 for ten minutes and try not to hate it. I dare you.

And what do you mean by (except for PC games)?
What's wrong with PC games?

The only reason I have so far to hate a game is when it completes kills the enjoyment I used to have from a previous game in its franchise. For example I truly hate Mario Kart Wii because I was expecting a current-gen Mario Kart 64 and was terribly dissapointed.

Same goes for MW 2, worst $60 ever spent.

Nothing. what I meant was that I cant stand and play PC games. I mean I could but it would be wierd.

For some reason I keep playing New Super Mario Bros Wii with my family despite the fact that 4 people trying to play that game at once is insanely frustrating.

I can sympathize, actually. I typically notice a game's good qualities more readily than flaws, don't recognize some more commonly-derided aspects as "flaws," and will usually take from the game favorable impressions if I finish it. It makes writing reviews a little harder, since I try to aim for objectivity, and few people will believe you're objective if you're too positive.

That's assuming the flaws aren't big enough to frustrate even me. I hated Summoner because it looked horrendous and froze frequently (on the first level). I hated <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.130703>Xchange for reasons that are likely obvious. And there have been games that simply bored me too much to go through with, though I don't get bored all that easily.

That's because it's a great game, no matter who does or doesn't like it. Basing your opinion off popularity is stupid, no offense.

OT: I used to be the same way. But once I started spreading out my genres and such so I played a lot of very different genres. When you do that, you start understanding what is and isn't good design, so I have a better grasp on all that now. So it's easier for me to not like a game, since it takes a well-designed game to fulfill me now.

Theres one game that I hate with a passion, but I can't quit playing just to prove I can beat it.

I tend only to hate games that I feel do a disservice to their IPs or gaming conventions in general. Best Examples: Hellboy - Science of Evil was so poorly designed that even a diehard HB fan such as myself couldn't bear to finish it. Then Rogue Warrior, which is just an insult to games.

I think I find it easier to see the positive side of a lot of hated games to the point where many people strongly disagree with me. I also see the bad side of well loved games to point were people strongly disagree with me. I can't say that I really hate any games that I am critical of.

There's your problem, you want to hate it, because other people like it.

You can't (well I can, but I'm an exception) make yourself hate anything, you either do or don't.
