HD Remix being compared to a WoW patch...brilliant.
It's called an analogy, something that a startling number of people completely fail to grasp the concept of (whether on purpose or otherwise). Point being, a few changes to a game (even if those changes could be categorized under "complete overhaul") don't change the initial release date of a game.

Chracter sprited were redrawn, as were backgrounds. The entire soundtrack was changed courtesy of OCremix, not to mention all of the balancing Capcom did. It was far more than a simple port or half-assed patch of the original SF2.
None of which changed the gameplay itself. It just looks and sounds prettier, but it's still just Street Fighter II.

I was playing SFII back when it and Mortal Kombat (the first one) were the only fighting games worth spending your quarters on at the arcade*, but I don't feel the need to have every single game in the series included. Yeah, Special Championship Edition (or CE, Turbo, etc.) was fun... back when it came out. The gameplay has evolved since then, and having the four games in this boxed set, I honestly can't see myself wanting to fire up SF1 other than to see just how poorly it's aged. And that's what documentary films are for.

Yeah, that's pretty pricey. Then again, the Skyrim Collector's was the same price and it only had one awesome dragon statue, the artbook and the game. Then again, it IS Skyrim. Then again, the Ultimate edition for Borderlands 2 seems more appealing. Then again, I wouldn't spend 150 bucks on something like this because internet and consoles (For movies and games). Then again, the statue seems nice.

I still think they should have thrown in a fight pad or the original game or something. You know, like the MK pad that comes with a MK game for free. And it's like half the price of this whole thing.
