After 6 six, shareholders at Capcom have decided that buyout/takeover countermeasures and policies are to end, leaving Capcom capable of being bought out if more than 50% of their stock is owned by another company. While I know of Japanese laws stating that only Japanese companies (Sega, Nintendo, Sony, and non-gaming Japanese companies) can buy a company, I'm unsure how that law affects a takeover through stock acquisition.
So, with such a move done by the Capcom shareholders, what do people think of how Capcom's faring overall? This is a rather... interesting move by the shareholders, and makes me think they don't feel Capcom's doing enough to be deserving of such protections. Will we see companies trying to buy more of Capcom's stock? Or maybe it's all just speculation and Capcom will continue as is?
