Capcom Shows Off First Downloadable Costumes for MvC 3

Hoping Phoenix Wright gets in as DLC so badly I'm going to jump to any conclusions I possibly can

Awesome. More stuff that used to be included in the games that you could unlock while playing being "removed" to sell to the stupid people later.

This is the kind of thing that makes me think this is the worst gaming generation ever, which is sad, considering this generation holds the most promise as well.

In my day alternate costumes were included in games as unlockables. For free, no less!

Am I the only one who's getting sick of all this day one DLC? "We held this off the disk to make our game cost about 100 dollars."

I miss the days when DLC added things to our games, instead of simply picking out choice bits and holding them away at arms length, like a fourth grade bully who was by some fluke tall enough to be an NBA center.

While it's pretty cool to see classic Thor in there, I'm not supportive of DLC for costumes, only. There needs to be something else included to sweeten the pot. Something more tangible.

What is "shadow mode", and why should I care? I'm not being an ass when I ask that. I'm genuinely asking what it is.

The shadow mode is where you fight teams programmed to fight like the developers of the game. So for tournament players I guess it could be useful, but I'm just going to be playing with friends so I just kind of feel 'meh' about it.

its an advanced AI system where they create AI based on famous players playstyles, its only coming loaded with the lead developers atm but more will be added over time. It gives people to play against what is consaidered to be the best playerws (or at least AI that mimics them well).

So it's essentially just ripping off what Namco's been doing already?

Oh God! Ryu looks AWFUL!! The other characters look pretty cool though. I was actually kinda miffed that Iron Patriot wasn't included in box.

Now the question is, when Jill and Shuma Gorath come out, will they have 4 costumes or 6?

Dante's Sparda costume and Iron Man's Iron Patriot costume should have been separate characters with similar move sets. Must have more characters....

First, Capcom I know you just launched another game with your baby Ryu in it and you need to milk it for all its worth while the hype is still high. But if you would like to see any money from me; I'll be sitting over here waiting for you to fix Lost Planet 2.

Dante's Sparda costume and Iron Man's Iron Patriot costume should have been separate characters with similar move sets. Must have more characters....

Capcom already has enough clones, would you really want more?

I'd prefer the characters to be more unique but I'd take new clone characters over just reskinning an old character to look like a new one.

I'd like to have Dante fight long side his father or have Iron Patriot has his own voice and special dialog with Spiderman and Iron Man. If it means making them a clone so be it. Still less lazy and greedy than just a costume for 5 bucks.

*Sighs* MvC3 is my first major fighting game. I knew BS DLC was part of the package of getting a Capcom fighting game, but DAMN. Still, the comic nerd in me squee'd with delight when I saw classic Thor and Iron Patriot, and my Capcom fan went "yay" at seeing Sparda. I'll just wait for something to lower the price or something. As for Shadow Mode, I'm getting that. If only for the lulz of getting my ass beat badly. I got the special edition, so I've already got a code for Jill and Shuma Gorath.

I am I the only one who remembers when alternate costumes were unlockable features and not a cheap and easy way for them to make a quick buck?

The only DLC that will matter to me is the one where they finally get Megaman X, Pheonix Wright, and Strider in the damn game.

Agreed... don't know how they would do Phoneix Wright, but Strider should get in.

But X... it's sick that he isn't in this game and yet Zero is! Those two are a team!

Now on the term of costumes, Black Zero ftw. Or that one "Ultimate Darkness" form he has in Command Mission.

Everyone is like, "Oh boy where is Strider," but you know what: Who the hell used Strider?

In fact, who the hell has even played a Phoenix Wright game?

Why does everyone want these characters to be in the game? Megaman X I can see, if only for the fact that when I see Capcom, the first thing that comes to mind is in fact Megaman. But Phoenix Wright? Why, so he can yell, "OBJECTION?!?!?!?!!??!?!!?" and then everyone will laugh at the fact that Capcom spent money and resources on a character who's entirely in the game just for a joke. I mean, come on, M.O.D.O.K. is pretty ridiculous, but at least he's a classic and a viable fighter. A lawyer? A fucking lawyer? So I guess he's supposed to be some kind of counterpart to She-Hulk, right?

of ALL the Marvel characters they could pick...Shuma Gorath. Noone's even heard of him/it ffs. Just think how cool it would have been to have Dr Strange, or Ghost Rider, or Dr Octopus, or Mysterio, or Venom.

Funny how you say that no one's ever heard of Shuma-Gorath and then you go around and mention Dr. Strange.

I do, however agree, that Ghost Rider might be pretty cool, Venom is one of my favorite MARVEL character's of all time, and apparently there are files for Dr. Octopus left on the game disc, but Mysterio and Dr. Strange? No, I'd rather have Shuma-Gorath, who I will have on March 15th, since I pre-ordered the SE.
