Here is the financial solution to Capcom.

Step One: Release some new Megaman games. (specifically Megaman Legends 3)

Step Two: profit.
I'm a little tired of people getting sour by MML3, Legends 1-2 weren't very good games, on top of that, they didn't even sell well. When Mega Man Volnutt was announced in Tatsunoko vs Capcom did you hear any praise? No, in fact the majority of MM fans wanted X instead.

I'm not upset that Mega Man Legends 3 was canceled. What I am upset about is that Mega Man Universe was canceled!
I agree. I never understood why people raged over MML3 is cancelled. And fans want X inthe new Smash Bros. game as Mega Man's Smash Attack...

I am in no position to have any insightful comments about Capcom's business strategy or recruiting model. All I can say is that Mr. Svensson seems like a pretty cool guy. Kudos to him and how he handles this. *Thumbs up*

Ninja'd.

A game studio that doesn't make games people want to play is a dead studio.

Why do they continue released that butchered Battle Network series when there's good megaman IP to be had?

The main reason was because the head of Capcom of Europe went on his Twitter afterward and blamed the fans for the cancellation of the game, despite fans submitting designs and ideas. If they had cancelled the game because they were worried about the money then I'd still be a little mad, but not as much as them blaming the fans for cancelling the game. Not to mention that there was a full beta that was playable that they have even showed off before. They said they were going to release it, but never did. So yeah those of us who were Legends fans were not only disappointed, but also we were mad because this was basically saying "you didn't love it enough so we decided to cancel it."

Gotcha. I was not really a MML fan. My best friend was. I am more of an RE fan (enjoyed RE5 and 6, but another topic for another day).

I was a huge Legends fan and the second one was great if you ask me, but it left it so open for a sequel that finally seemed like it was going to be made after 10 years, only to have it completely dashed away. Basically I compares this to say if Valve made Half-Life 3 as well as a full beta, but then told the fans "we're not releasing it because of lack of fan support." I'd shudder to think of how much chaos wold ensue, and while Legends didn't have as many fans as say X did we were still patient and were told we were at least going to get the beta. I mean it was already a slap to us because at the time it was only coming out for the 3DS which had just come out and was really expensive.

Good to see he's looking out for the people affected by this.

I kinda saw this though. I mean, Capcom's been slamming into wall after wall lately.
They've done it to themselves by being anti consumer, no sympathy for a company that acts like Capcom/EA/Microsoft as they all deserve what they get.

It is sad that people got fired, but they are probably gonig to be picked up by some other studio sooner or later. now the fact that capcom is falling apart is truly a news worth celebrating.

I hope they crash and burn... and Nintendo buy Mega Man while it's going cheap.

Capcom Suffers Layoffs

Capcom Senior Vice President Christan Svensson has announced that he is no longer with the company, which is laying off an unspecified number of people as part of a reorganization.

In a message posted on his Facebook page, Svensson, perhaps the most visible figure at Japanese publisher Capcom, revealed that he has left the company. "While it comes as something of a relief, today is bittersweet. After nearly eight years, it is my final day at Capcom," he wrote.

"This departure is not a bad thing for me and it's happening mostly because I'd suggested it during the early planning for today's reorg," he continued. "While I wish the company the best of luck, Capcom is going in a different direction and the need for people at my level, relative to other areas, is lacking. Those who know me well, know that I've been ready to go for quite some time."

Unfortunately, Svensson's voluntary departure is accompanied by an unspecified number of involuntary cuts. "Sadly, I'm not the only one affected by the reorganization today. Over the next few days, I'll be gathering resumes from as many as I can and will be sending them out to my contacts around the industry to see if there's a 'love connection' to be made," he wrote. "At the same time, if your company is hiring in one of these areas, please let me know via FB message; doing so might save some time for all concerned."

As for the future, Svensson said he's got a few possibilities lined up with a "level of authority [that] will be more in-line with the levels of responsibility" he's had over the past several years.

Sadly it seems my boycott of capcom for cancelling megaman legends 3 has had an unintended affect.

they will learn though. one day they will realize that the answer to all there problems is to simply GIVE ME MY GAME!!! lmao
