Well, this gives me another reason to continue not buying Capcom games (seriously, I only have one Capcom game that I bought used years ago).

I don't remember Capcom being mean to their customers (except not localizing the latest Phoenix Wright game). I don't like their stance on SOPA, but I would probably still buy their videogames. And that their old games drop to ~$20 (like RE5 and Okami are $15) quite early compared to other games is a nice bonus.
I always thought Capcom was one of the best publishers.
And just wondering, which videogame publishers do not support SOPA?

Well, apparently Sony, Nintendo and...EA? Activision? I can't remember the third one, but supposedly they dropped their support.

However it would seem they're only claiming they have while trying to continue supporting it through a third party, if the News Room chatter is to be believed.

Is Capcom that desperate to lose their customer base? First they start cancelling some of the bigger titles in their arsenal and milking the DLC/remakes. Because of this, the brilliant minds behind much of Capcom's success leave, and now they support SOPA. I think Capcom needs a wake-up call.

Sorry to be such a downer, but according to the article the OP posted up, it says that it was erroneously reported that EA, Sony, blah blah blah dropped public support.

It's like Capcom is allergic to good consumer relations, like they're trying to sabotage themselves.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a list of game companies that /don't/ support SOPA? Because I have a feeling that it's such a short list that it would make more sense to pay extra attention to them than to boycott the ones that do. Same thing with any other content provider, really; entertainment companies /love/ things that dick over the customer in the name of copyright.

Them game boycotts, they work so well;

That image is misleading. That means that two out of 17 pages worth of people were playing the game, and even the last person on the second page wasn't playing it. Steam lists the users who are in game in a group first, it's not alphabetical or random.

Edit: Oh, also, look closely. A good chunk of the ones who were in game weren't even playing MW2; I'm not saying gamers are known for sticking to boycotts, but that picture has been horribly misinterpreted by most of the people who use it as evidence.

Edit Edit: And I misread it. That was only the first page, meaning a really small fraction of the people in the group were playing the game at the time. The guy who founded the group (the first person on the list, with the star next to his name) certainly wasn't.

funny i thought they woulda been on board by now *shrugs*

w/e given what they've canceled and what they've released of late they don't want my money anyway, so this really mean nothing outside 'their being run by idiots who can't see the big picture' which, we already knew :p
