May I ask what they were smoking? Because if you think that is a good idea, you NEED to be on some serious stuff.

I wouldn't associate myself with Capcom, Valve. They are incompetent enought to destroy the L4D series even with this seemingly harmless promotion. Outrageous prices, locked contents and the worst of all...typos.

Don't worry, Valve already managed to destroy the L4D series by releasing L4D2... Capcom can't do any more damage than themselves...

I see that L4D2 drama has left some bitterness in some fans. Buy the game in the next sale for 5 bucks and you can get over it like everybody else

I got L4D2 since release - sorry, but "buy the game" doesn't make it any better. Crap game stays crap game.

This would probably work better with more iconic monsters. It's all about lickers, hunters and the tyrants. Now I'm imagining a L4D campaign filled with logic puzzles where Mr X occasionally kool-aids his way through a wall to give you a hug.

Not that I care what you think, you already lost your credibility for me when you said "buy the game, play it and get over it" without thinking that most people, who hate L4D2 already have it.

Resident Evil takes itself so seriously and tries so hard to have any kind of plot that it all comes out a jumbled mess.

Left 4 Dead doesn't take itself seriously at all, doesn't try to have any kind of plot and comes out as a far better story.

If RE characters are placed in L4D it wouldn't really matter too much as they don't have much established lore.
If L4D characters are placed in RE it's a sign the story/lore is not worth following or even bothering to adhere to.

Valve should not be trying to get in bed with Capcom, they should be trying to get in bed with Telltale Games.

I was hoping for a Licker skin for the Hunter, a Tyrant (or Nemesis) skin for the Tank or playing as Leon, Chris, Claire and Jill (nerdgasm), I haven't played RE6, but the annonced roster of enemies seems kinda bland.

If youve actually played RE6 (i dont blame you if you havent though) then one of the named creatures in there is the first boss in Jake's campaign.

It says this'll be for the RE6 PC release, but doesn't specifically say anything about the L4D2 platform. While it is implied this is exclusively for the PC versions of both games, I've gotta go ahead and ask the dumbass question of the day:

Is this going to be exclusive to the L4D2 on PC?

Yeah, the title was hella misleading, and was a hella let down. That said, this is still a pretty damn neat idea; I've always been a fan of cross-overs, regardless of how I feel about Capcom, so bring it on.

The L4D2 side of the crossover are being called special infected replacements, so I wonder, are they gonna play differently than the regulars or just be different versions of the pre-established SE? I mean, I can see the Lepotitsa being the replacement for a boomer, but what of the other 2?

Well technically, you could still be able to. Valve are letting the fans take a shot at making some RE characters and will pick the 4 best ones to use as their official selections for the promotion.

Unfortunately, this implies that the VAs won't be lending their talents to the characters. So, y'know, glass half empty, glass half full.

Re6 players get to play as Coach and the gang on their game and l4d2 players get more special infected! Wth why can't we get Chris, Claire, Barry, and Leon in L4d2?

Man, I seem to be the only person who absolutely loves RE6... Granted, it's a little too Call Of Duty in spots for my taste, but it's still a fantastic game in its own right. Not as good as 4, but as good as 5 (and I think 5 kicks ass). I never played L4D1 or 2, but I still wish I as a PS3 owner could play as the additional characters. Hey Capcom, do a crossover with Silent Hill or Dead Space! For the love of God, let me play as Leon killing necromorphs!

Well, considering Left 4 Dead's structure with what are nearly standalone campaigns, making one that crosses over into the setting for RE could be a rather interesting idea.

This was already done the other way around, with Payday having a DLC heist set in Mercy hospital, and it was rather well done, in my opinion. Then again, that game shares a lot of core mechanics with L4D, and both series have a similar tone, so the crossover felt mostly natural.
