Does anyone remember this? When Ray William Johnson on youtube used to do anti-GOP political humor, and his show was called Capital Hill Gangsta instead of =3?

If so, do you miss it? I really do. His new stuff is alright, but shit was his old stuff entertaining. I used to really look forward to his putting out videos, whereas now maybe watch about every third thing he puts out.

He explained that its hard for him to get a job saying the things he did, but he wasn't a radical. He was just a funny liberal. My dad knows some guys who work for the fire department who are in a band that has songs about arson. Yet they don't have problems. Doesn't really make sense.

Bonus question:

Did you see the change coming? I sort of did. In the couple weeks before he abandoned politics altogether, he started mixing in more and more celebrity news. When he changed the name from Capital Hill Gangsta, explaining "I'm getting tired of this whole 'gangsta' angle", but kept all the same rap effects and everything I got really suspicious that he was gonna stop doing a political show.

Ah I have been thinking the same thing. RWJ's problem is a combination of pandering to the Lowest Common Denominator and becoming too popular(and therefor too cocky).

Back in the day(even the early days of =3) he was pretty good, actualy reviewing videos and being funny. Now he just shoots off "your mom" jokes left and right, rather than actually reviewing stuff.

Yeah. I used to like =3. Especially in the earliest days before he announced his new zero politics policy when he would combine politics, videos and celebrity nonsense in one big comedic coctail.

It feels like he isn't even trying anymore.

Why should he bother? CHG never made it to the top 10 subscribed.

He still had a lot of fans, made youtube partner and made some quality stuff.

That last part seems like it'd be worth at least a bit of effort still.
