Why is it that when you post a new topic and enter the captcha correctly it often, but not always, comes back as an error and then works the second time you enter it correctly? I'm not trying to bring attention to the site admins or the moderators to fix this as I know doing that via a forum thread is probably inappropriate and goes against the code of conduct. Heck, I don't even care much if it gets fixed or not. I'm just curious. Does this happen to anyone else besides me? Can anyone explain why this happens?

I've never really noticed that as much as a captcha requirement popping up after hitting post when there wasn't one before.

It's weird. Sometimes it asks for one, sometimes it doesn't.

It's because there's a timeout on the captcha.
Well...that's inconvenient. If you look at all the topics I've started, heck like 2/3 posts I make, they tend to be very long, longer to write than the timeout takes probably. Then again, like you say, I can just refresh the captcha. Thanks for the explanation. I didn't even notice a refresh button honestly. Guess the media is right, video games are rotting my brain and destroying my focus /sarcasm

Sooooooo I wasn't expecting this to be answered so quickly. Let's see. What else is there to ask about that is similar enough to this discussion? *Lightbulb* Ooh. I know. So, this is for anybody who Facebook comments on The Escapist.

[HEADING=3]Facebook comments-Why you so silly?[/HEADING]

Why is that some people, when replying to comments, can successfully link the name of the person they're responding to while others can only reply with the name in normal text? I mean, in the preview it shows the name as linked, in all blue vs the black of normal text, but then when you post it comes out as normal text. I tend to be the latter category. If I'm on Facebook it's more likely the name will successfully link, but if I'm on a site that allows Facebook comments this tends not to work and the name just ends up as normal text. It gets annoying when I see other commentators successfully link names though it seems to fail for most people.
