Captcha's every post?

I'm kind of sick of this happening all the time. I lurk a lot but when I do want to post (like when I'm fucking around in forum games) I get captchas every, stinking time. Once and awhile I can get. I made a post another time about having a captcha limit at like 1000 or something or if they didn't tell us so it would be a secret. The point is either I'm just unlucky or it is happening way too much.

Your thoughts on the Captcha?

I don't really mind captcha, although sometimes they give me some up the wall stuff, like letters that don't exist on my keyboard. I've noticed that every post besides my first one usually has it. I don't mind it much, it doesn't keep me from postin' anyhow, since by then I've already typed my post.

But anyway seriously, isn't the captcha only meant to come up every ten or twenty posts, at-least that's what I remember. I do think it's a bit silly having captcha continue after 100 posts, let alone 1000, the only argument I've ever heard against a captcha that stops after a certain limit is that it wouldn't prevent an old account hacked and then connected to a bot from spamming. I've never seen an old account hacked by a bot ever, so it seems a great deal of users are being annoyed to fight a practically non-existent threat.

Maybe bring the issue up on this group if you're getting annoyed, I think know people have mentioned it before there but maybe weight of protest will help change the staff's mind?

It so happens that on a previous occasion, I asked the Tech Team what was up with the Captchas happening so often and that I was severely annoyed with it. They assured me that they would look into it and that I should probably blame Kross, 'cause blaming Kross is the in-thing to do. As of yet, I have not seen any positive indicator that they have fixed the problem. Therefore, they have either not yet found the root cause in the coding or have been lax and lazy about it.

This is all academic, though, as I do not believe that they actually work in the first place. Furthemore, at 8,000 flipping posts, I should never have to enter this shit again.

But 8,000 flipping posts just won't do. You have to make 8,000 freakin posts before you're free of captcha tyranny.

There you go - you could have entered that and it would have worked. One of the words (the first one in this case but it could be on the second position) is mandatory. You can recognise the style - distorted with an "negative ink blot" around the middle. The other word is just there for a filler - it's either really easy or it's totally untypable. You can type in whatever you want in that place and it would work.

Also, you are allowed like a mistake or two on the required word, so "alishpoa", "alishpod", "aishpos" and so on would still work.

Actually you don't have to type anything at all for the second one. And captcha's also not case-sensitive so ALISHPOS is the same as alishpos.

Agreed, I feel like there is a paranoid eye hanging over me despite having a few thousand posts >.<
Really? Honestly, after between 500 and 1K posts they should leave you the hell alone.

Although at least for captchas you only have to sort of get the correct spelling of the generated word. Makes it bearable (that spelling looks wrong for some reason).

OT: They still don't stop all the freakin' bots. The captcha placement is random and therefore may skip the amiable bot for say about 20 spam posts before capture. Having them at the account creation phase makes more sense.

Mine seem random, but not in the "random" sense they mean. I may get 2-3 (4-5+) in a row, then not get one for two days, no matter how much I post. I think their randomizer may be broken?

Yes, actually I've thought about that. Can anybody with dyslexia or good knowledge tell me how do those people deal with CAPTCHAs? I've listened to the audio versions a total of twice...and I didn't get anything out of them
