Hello friends (and my one enemy...YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!!!!)

Anyway, I am hoping that one of the great minds on The Escapist will be able to assist me in my dilemma. I have created a "Let's Play" group for XCOM [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tippy2k2-s-XCOM-Army]. Currently, I am verbally communicating the action via text but am interested in potentially turning this into a video series to allow my soldiers to see their horrible deaths their victories on video.

However, I am having troubles :(

I have found a few different solution to said troubles on the interweb but would like some assistance if possible. There seems to be two different ways to do this:

A. Get a HD AV Cable and plug the capture card through
B. Get a HDMI Cable and plug the HDMI capture card through

This is my first attempt at something like this and the HDMI option seems really freaking expensive so I would like to get opinions from people who have done "Let's Play" videos.

Does the HD AV Cable setup look fine? I have the HD AV cable still from my original purchase and would have no problem switching out the cables when I do the "Let's Play" stuff. If that does look fine, besides a computer, do I need anything else to do this or does it come with everything I need (so software I presume is the only other thing I'd need besides the actual cable).

Thank you and have a pleasant day!

Note to Mods: I wasn't sure if this should be Advice or Gaming but I figured Gaming. If I am wrong, feel free to move me!

I would like to do this too. A long time ago, I heard Egoraptor explain how he captured the videos for Game Grumps. He said:

"We use a canopus to capture the video and an svideo splitter to split the signal to the tv".

I'm still not sure what it means, mostly because I haven't done my research. but there's that. hope it makes more sense to you. D:

I found a good website for it. They have several other options besides the two you posted

keep up the good work with your army. Its a fun read. Still sad about my death though :(

Sweet, thank you very much for your guide. I'm sad that the cheapest HD model was $100 :(

All well...thanks anyway!
