I already know what I want to be, a network security consultant. I've pretty much put every effort to get into the field. I work on computers (geek squad, i gotta start somewhere) I'm going for my associates in network security. I spend a lot of time reading, working on, and learning about computers.

I'd really like to work for a large contractor such as Honeywell or the like.

I want to be a psychologist, so at least I hit quite a few things in that field based on someone else's little test. I still think all of these tests aren't going to help anyone. You should be the one deciding, not some random career test.

I actually found this test quite helpful . Before , all I really knew was that I wanted to have a desk job , and I wanted to be an author .Now with the help of this survey I have decided to go for being an editor , while being a writer in my spare time .

Of course , some things don't make sense at all , like potter (they still have those?)

All career test are like this. I'm not exactly sure why though.

I think the way it works is that it does the jobs it feels you will like , and lists them in some order based on you answers and the amount it pays , putting menial jobs at the end for the kind of people who would have to take those . If you really want , you can make the results more accurate , on the right of the screen you should see a tab or something that let's you take more question to get better results . Also on the right hand side is another tab that asks you about your skills , which will also improve the results .

Go to SANS and get a GSE. Get a CCNA. Be prepared for a big spend to get into this industry.

So...my second best choice is being a Director, but those skills don't translate down well enough that I should be a Special Effects Technician before a Website Designer? Oh, and before I start programming for Google I should really consider studying tribes in the Amazon. But only after I've pushed through the crew ranks of your average Broadway musical.

Riiiight. But I am really going to enjoy telling people that if the Desktop Publishing gig doesn't work out, I'm going to write for Marmaduke.

Thank you, online feelings poll. I certainly feel enriched.

BTW, I've worked in retail my whole life. You tell me, Internet...

The mods don't much care for List threads.
Also, I don't need to go on a survey that needs an account when there are the exact same things that people can participate on anonymously. I'd become an animator anyways, which is a description that's vague at best.
