So, we have established that the first Castlevania game is a classic, the second one is terrible, but what about the third? Well get ready to take a ride down the "You're an idiot for trying" tunnel. It goes back to the classic liniar style of the first game, (Good aspect) but it seems as if they made the game over 9000 times (Pun intended) harder to beat. This game is called "Dracula's Curse" in good reasoning, the game basicly curses you to try to beat it when it is nearly impossible.
You play as an ancestor of Simon Bellmont, not only that but their is 3 different companions in the game (Alucard [Dracula's son] Grant [some pirate guy] and some spell caster whose name I have forgotten.) The game goes back the the chicken leg heals your health aspect, but they are a lot harder to find. Unlike the first one, where 9/10 times before the boss battle, you would die from falling off something, 4/10 times you will die from health exhostion before the boss. (97/100 times you will die somehow before getting to the boss.)
in all other words, the game is unfair, you are constantly cheapshoted to no end, losing everything by having 2 clinks of health taken away and falling down a ledge. This game is frustrating and miniakle, but for some reason, you will want to keep playing... Dracula has put a curse on you... to attempt and fail to beat this game.
Rating: 6/10
very hard, yet rewarding.
