If you have no idea what Cataclysm is(if so why are you here?) it's an upcoming expansion pack for World of Warcraft(and if you don't know what that is you are forever shamed).
With that being said, so apperantly they have finally given us a release date(12/7) and it's about bloody time, but what I was wondering if anyone else has the same position as me, used to play, stopped, will resume when Cata hits, and if not, are you interested in it?

AMERICAN SCU- *cough*
Sorry. I just noticed how you put the date down. And I'm a "slight" American-ist.

Anyway, it's only spectulation, if you're thinking of what I think you're thinking of.
I hope it will be out on the 7/12, but I doubt it.

Edit: Oh, I look forward to it, I started when it came out, pretty much (Only 1 80, so don't accuse me of having no life) though I play for a month or two, then stop for about six. And it's getting rather repetative, so I look very much forward to the changes.

Im in the same position. Played since the game started, and quit in WOTLK after I realized that they not only destroyed raiding, but destroyed PVP as well.

From what I hear, Cata is supposed to make everything all sunshine and rainbows again. So yeah.
I'll be joining up hoping it's a shit ton better. :]

I, for one, will definitely be playing again. WoW needed some freshening up, in my opinion, and it looks like that's just what it's gonna get. Finally, low level zones will be interesting again. It's about damn time.

No, that was an official announcement. It's coming out on the seventh of december.

I'm not really in the position above. I avoided playing because I actually had no money to play, and the second I get enough money I'm going to hop back into azeroth. But I am very much looking forward to the new Azeroth. Should be some fun times to be had.

Hells yeah, since i've had a lot of free time i've just lvled my first 80 and plan to get cata a little after release. I really hope they keep the the thing where you effect the world after completing a quest. I really like that.

I'm in two minds whether or not to play it again... :\ on one hand, it got boring and i wouldnt have decent gear for raids, but it looks so good.. :x

hmm... do i want to do the same thing i did before, all over again, but with different graphics and different quest text?

....Pass.

If they wanted to draw people in, bring a new element of gameplay to the table. Make quests multiple choice endings or something. Give us something...ANYthing different.

Retexturing and relabelling the same old stuff is what they did for the last two expansions (see mobs, armor and weapons).

US Date order is just weird and illogical, so let's just say 7th December to avoid confusion :)

I'm really looking forward to it too, and this time they're making it available for download from release date, which helps a lot as I play on a US server from in Scotland.

I'm probably going to get Cataclysm, it depends if any other MMO's come out, because I'd rather buy a new MMO than an expansion for one I've played for so long. I'm currently subscribed to WoW, trying to level my Death Knight to 80, and then I'll maybe get my Priest and Hunter to 80 as well if I can be bothered. If I'm playing Cataclysm when it comes out, I'll make a Goblin Shaman and level mainly with quests, I'm interested to see how the land has changed, I haven't looked into much of it so it's all a surprise to me still.

i am still undecided, but leaning towards not resubscribing. but if i do, it will be only for as long as it takes for me to view the changes in the world and get my character to 85. after that, i will bail.

I am in the same boat. I have to admit, I have daydreamed about flying an epic mount over the newly remade version of the barrens.

I thought I managed to walk away, but they managed to get in another hook to bring me back. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I do still love WoW, I was just tired of the same old grind. I hope it'll be a while before I say that again. It'll be nice to have fun exploring Azeroth again.

I'm still playing, but I'm wrestling with which character I'm going to take to 85 first. I've got an elemental shammy and feral druid that I enjoy thoroughly (though I have many more 'achievements' on my shaman). I will be making a worgen warrior as my new alt though.

The changes look great, and I can't wait for heroic dungeons that take time and skill to make it through.

I'm still playing, ish, but my account gets turned off and on.

My Favorite things to do are level characters and hit up Battlegegrounds. Unfortunately i always felt arenas always fucked up PvP. Since i had no interest in straight 2-5 vs 2-5 matches yet arena players would always have gear three steps ahead of me.

With cat coming and leveling characters actually going to be fun again, i have done every damn quest a thousand times, it'll be neat. As well two new battlegrounds from the outset? Rather then just one new one for level 80-85 players? Hells fucking yeah.
