I need a cat, my older kitty (not a real cat, se was so small anf fluffy) died less than a year ago at age 17 (i was 19), and my big brother (my old 24 pounds cat) can't travel due to weight limits on airplanes.
I'm so tempted to get myself a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest, magnificient breed, big, fluffy and gentle.
one of my ex-friends in iceland owned a female Maine Coon AND a Male Norwegian Forest Cat... very striking the both of them together in photos!

I remember coming home from elementary one day to find my cat Oliver playing with something behind the couch. I go over to see what it was, and I find the front half of a dead mouse in front of a mouse hole in the wall.

My cat wanted to leave the dead, half eaten carcass of a dead mouse in front of the mouse hole as a reminder to other mice on the shit that would go down if they ever came out. Needless to say I was proud of him, but once I told my mom she immediately threw it out.

I shit you not, a few weeks later we had another mouse running wild. Nibbling on the cupcakes my mom left on the table, shitting on the floor, dodging the traps we set up. It was the Al Qaeda to my America. Luckily, my digilant cat caught this damn bastard and ate his face(along with most of its torso). I come home from school again and he presents me with it's ass.

I had a cat named patches, patches would wait at my door for me to fall asleep than sneak onto the bed and start clawing at my neck, I hate patches.

I love cats. These are mine. I lost the one on the right a few days ago :( He had a strange fetish for feet and hair. If you were going down the stairs he would always be one step ahead of you in order to bite your feet. And if you bent down in front of him and presented him your head he would lick and chew your hair. I miss him greatly.

Oh, fuck. The people who think they have problems with their cats carrying dead animals...I think you actually have bigger problems. Your cat may be trying to kill you [http://www.catswhothrowupgrass.com/kill.php]

This is one of the signs

Beware.
Actually it's just your cat telling you you're a terrible hunter.

I try to keep a handful of cats within reach at all times. Though I don't go over 4 in a household if I can help it, as cat hoarder houses smell something awful.

My favorite cat of the group is a Russian Blue named Puff. She's a damned good mouser. Growing up she use to find mice around the house, dispatch them, and deliver them to me (give or take the tail). I once woke up to find a dead mouse on my pillow in front of me. Not fun. If she found a mouse, she would caterwaul very loudly. Mrrrrew! Mrr... If she couldn't find me, Puff would leave the mouse at the door to the kitchen.

Since the mouse problem was taken care of and I no longer get the critters running rampant, Puff has to satisfy her hunting instincts on small mouse-like toys and insects. And she can catch a fly at 5 ft mid air! Amazing stuff. Puff is 13 now.
