Now i know this may very well seem like a "cry some more" thread, however i just saw/heard the videoclip for Caught in the Crowd by Kate Miller-Heidke

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ojoqHbPmzg
Now before i get into my little ... annoyencelet me say that i think she is a good singer from this song however this song makes me rage harder then most other pop songs about nothing, (See: Aria Charts).

The Song is her perspective growing up bystanding as a kid gets bullied ect ect. and she has a look back and says sorry for not befriending, unpopular kid, who was shy/lonly.

So she goes about in retrospect saying sorry for not being there or knowing him more whatever.

Now as much as i myself would want an apology from most people from when i was in school for the bulling, received by myself and others, this song actually makes me angrier about the song because it seems that she is singing this just to fill a record and not throwing meaning to the song.

So it's just me being spiteful and holding unnessicary anger towards the bystanders (or people who sing from the perspective of bystanders)

she has a good voice, but the song was as empty as most songs are nowadays.

Kinda made me remember my days in school... those were the days... the days that nearly turned me into a homicidal maniac, the days when i learned that trusting anyone would lead to my personal demise, when i decided that the only person i ever really needed was me.
my family were hatin on eachother constantly back then and using me as a pawn when they could in their power games.
I left school and refused to return when I caught myself planning someone's death and figured a break from it might just be more mentally healthy than staying in an killing the bugger...

and that's how i became the only person in my family to ever drop out in grade 9... a total loser and a failure in their eyes... haunts me to this day...

and now I bid ado and wish that that song is soon forgot, because when i relive my memories in my head I feel like killing random people to sate my rage... and that is not good... except in games... because it releases my stress... gotta play something violent now. damn

Yeah cheers, i know i though forget the song but it's something im actually quite angry about, espically since that "they" (yeah it's a blanket term but fuck you) seem to think that saying sorry will slove everything.

Hey sounds like you made the good decision mate, good luck to ya

I'm sorry, I didn't get past the part where she rhymed school with high school.
I died a little inside at that part. Man that's awful.

Firstly, this isn't my type of music but I thought it was alright for a..er..pop song. Whatever...everyone is a critic these days!.

My take on it was that there is a meaning behind this song. She's apologizing to the kid for her actions (or lack thereof) when at school. I mean don't get me wrong I'm sure a majority of the motivation was album sales but I got the impression that a small part was indeed about the apology. Which entitles it some meaning, that's what I think anyway.

It's a step up from Miley Cyrus..even with the school-high school rhyming. (I fail to see the big problem there tbh, but whatever)

Sorry isn't enough tbh, I always try to befriend someone with no friends/someone being bullied(although quite a few times it's been thrown back in my face)

Music is open to interpretation, at least the best ones are. I am not saying this is a good song or a bad song but you can derive from it what you will. I guess what I am trying to say is that it's a song for a select audience, I don't think the intention was to patronize or alienate her listeners but it seems it was a more 1-on-1 song than anything else.
