Hmm it's really hard to explain since I have been playing for years.

If you really are a bloody noob try to get on those deathmatch or gungame servers, they give you a feeling for the guns.

Well there are also some essential things, just like running with the knife in your hand makes you a lot faster, or knowing the map. If you know the spots where enemies frequently show up, you've got a big advantage.

For the weapon choice:

M4A1: Really easy handling, but very powerful. Silencer doesn't change a lot.
AK47: DAMN powerful (one hit headshot kills), but difficult to handle for beginners.
M3 Shotgun: Nice for close combat as in cs_office, aim at their face and fire :D.
P90: Kinda nice for beginners, since it has a high rate of fire but still is effective.
AWP: One hit kill sniper, if you're good at aiming, definately the gun for you.
Desert Eagle: THE pistol. Effective, but just 7 shot per magazin.

Avoid spraying all the time, except in really close combat. If you spray with the AK, aim at their upper legs, the bullets will spread so much that you can even hit their head that way.

But I guess you just need more practise. I really sucked in my first 2 months. Now I get a constant K/D of atleast 2 or 3. It automatically comes with time...

Well, for more serious tips:

6. Knife makes you run the fastest.
That's incorrect. Knife gives you a velocity of 250, while a Scout gives you 260.

If it hasn't been said already turn off your mouse acceleration in windows.
Untick the box called "enhance pointer precision" or whatever it's called in your windows.
That'll make your mouse movements more consistent.
