As video games become more epic in scope, many video game studios have decided to use famous Hollywood celebrities to voice and model characters in their games. For example, Seth Green's appearance in Mass Effect, or Patrick Stewart's role in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. These famous voices lend their strength to the games they are in, and give the games a professional and slightly more 'respectable' feel.

Not all celebrities are fans of voicing games, however. Sigourney Weaver, for example, opted not to voice her famous role as Ellen Ripley in the Aliens video game (which, to my knowledge, has since been canceled). She again refused to voice a game in the recent Ghostbusters game (although she wanted to try again when she saw the Bill Murray was voicing, but the developers had moved on by then). She does seem to be warming up to the idea, though. She recently declared that she would in fact be voicing her part in the upcoming James Cameron's Avatar game.

My questions to you guys are as follows: who is your favorite celebrity voice in games? (Stephen Fry in Fable 2 for me, even if I freakin' hate Reaver) What celebrities would you like to see voice act for a game? (Gilbert Gotfried. Merely because it would be fucking hilarious.)Do you think more celebrities will voice for games in the future? (Of course! The industry seems to be a good place for celebrities, and since people like Sigourney Weaver are beginning to finally show interest, other celebrities may feel more comfortable in voice acting.)

I would like to see a rendition of the comic "All Hail Megatron" with Frank Welker reprising his role as the original Megatron. Now, some people question games where you are the villain and Yahtzee has spoken a few turns on this, but in this case...it'd work if you do it right. Megatron was a military genius, AND he knew restraint when need-be. That would mean any game where you direct his forces, you could choose how much of a bastard you want to be and shoot Starscream for being shortsighted and an idiot.

To be honest, I don't really notice celebrity voice actors.
I simply don't care about them enough to recognize their voices.
Pretty much this, but I did like whoever did Sheogorath's voice in Oblivion.

All I care about is if the voice acting is good, not who is doing it. If one of the main characters is a nobody with a seriously sweet voice that goes with the character and his role in the story then thats fine. With that said Liam Neeson as your dad in Fallout 3 was awesome.

Patrick Stewart's voice is like... You know... I'll get banned if I say.
And Christopher Lee's voice in KH2. It makes my tummy fizzy :3

I was really surprised at the beginning of Mass Effect.

I was like "...is that Seth Green?"

My brother walked in a few minutes later and asked the same thing.

It was pretty neat.

Does Jennifer Hale count, mainly because of the sheer number of the things she's done?
Yes she should count. For quantity and quality.

Yeah. He was actually rather fitting for that character. But I never really got used to him as a Jedi master. "I'm tired of these mother fucking sith in this mother fucking temple!"

I thought Liam Neeson in Fallout 3 was a pretty big help in getting me attached to that character. Even if you don't know who he is, his voice is relaxing and mellow and really got me emotionally engaged. A little too well, really...

I'd love to see John Hurt voice someone in a game. After to James Earl Jones, he has the best voice - in my opinion - that I've ever heard. I wish I could hear him in games. Not as a main character, but as a very important support-character or as a villain.

I loved Liam Neeson in Fallout 3. "Dada?"
Liam Neeson (a.k.a. Oskar Schindler) made me basically want to hug my monitor, because his voice is so soothing, and nurturing.

Samuel L Jackson should have been Lucien in Fable II. "I've had it with these mother F-ing Heroes on this mother F-ing Spire!"
