Now someone needs to clue me in on a tactical codpiece, that I would have an interest in buying.

I'd take a codpiece with a magazine/condom pouch.

I'm not sure if they're tactical, but at least someone put a whole lot of time in making these nice chainmail codpieces [http://www.chainmail.com/chainmall/tbackmale.htm]: "The cod piece is the most involved of my designs. Because strolling down the road with only a broadsword and a chainmail codpiece on would be more awesome then words are capable of describing. You of course have to respond to questions only by laying the sword on one shoulder while flexing your other arm at them. Then just walk off.

Well they could do the slightly more acceptable act of wearing their codpiece over their pants, but that is like the chubby kid wearing his shirt at the pool.
