**EDIT**

THE LIST IS NOW OPEN TO HANDHELD TITLES

Ok, now I know that this is going to seem strange, but I want to attempt to compile a master list of every JRPG released in North America. To be a little more specific, all JRPGs released on home consoles only (no handhelds). I want the list to start from the NES and go all the way up to the current generation consoles (360, PS3, Wii).

I will be keeping a physical copy of the list as well as constantly updating the list I am going to start in this post.

So, I hope to see plenty of replies with many titles and hopefully we can successfully catalogue every JRPG released until now. Have fun ^_^

Do ARPGS made in Japan count as JRPGS?
Because if so then add Terranigma to SNES/Wii, well probably just Wii since it was never released on America for the SNES, it was on Europe but not America, it is however now available on the VCON, and it's seriously amazing.

SNES
Lufia
Lufia 2 [small]Oddly enough this goes first, I would play this first because the beginning of the first one spoils the ending of this one, and yes they were actually made in that order)[/small]
Soul Blazer [small](ARPG)[/small]
Illusion of Gaia [small](ARPG)[/small]

Also why no portables?
There are some awesome JRPGS for the GBA like Golden Sun, and there were some from the SNES that were only released in Japan but got re-released for the GBA like Tales of Phantasia which is really damn good.

[small]Sorry all JRPGs I have played are for the SNES and GBA X_x for some reason I have never bought one for my Gamecube and didn't play any when I had a PS3, don't know of any for PC, so I can't try those.[/small]

JRPGS as in, any RPG that was made by a Japanese developer, not style of the gameplay itself?

Didn't look like these had been mentioned yet

SNES:
7th Saga
Brandish
Harvest Moon*
Secret of Evermore**
Soul Blazer
Ys III: Wanderers from Ys

PS1:
Alundra
Alundra 2
Arc the Lad Collection (US release compilation)
Brave Fencer Musashi
Final Fantasy Anthology
Final Fantasy Chronicles
Final Fantasy Origins
Final Fantasy Tactics
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature*
Parasite Eve
Parasite Eve II
SaGa Frontier
SaGa Frontier 2
Tales of Destiny
Thousand Arms (this game was totally not what I thought it was going to be)
Vagrant Story
Wild Arms
Wild Arms 2

*Not sure how specifically you are classifying "JRPG" and whether these count. They were considered RPGs but they are much more sims.

** This one was made completely by Squaresoft (US branch of Square) so not sure whether it counts either.

Also, should probably mention the Zeldas or, at the very least, Adventure of Link. Again, not a perfect fit for the genre, but they are sometimes considered RPGs. And if you are going to count games like Secret of Mana, then the disparity really isn't that big. (Personally I would classify RPGs as having discrete levels gained through experience, thus excluding all but part 2).

And, yes, I was totally Square's ***** in the mid to late 90's.
