Vinyl is much more easily permanently ruined than digital files...

Also, no one makes vinyl records anymore... well, hardly.

This thread is the biggest waste of DIGITAL data ever. Oh and by the way you can't access the internet with vinyl.

Do have a car?Because if you don't,thats a trick answer.
Because if you don't have a car you can't play even the most compact discs around(if anyone knows of a self playing CD,please inform).

I like portable music, so I use an mp3-player.
Vinyl is a nice thing to have at home, though.

You can't beat the sound spectrum of a vinyl with a CD, but most people don't hear good enough or have the equipment to enjoy it. CD is better for everyday use.

Oh, truly?

While I prefer CDs it has the same old flaw as anything digital. If there's an error with it it will not play at all at one point. With analog you might get a few scratches, but can still play it.

I prefer full digital to either, easier to store, more portable, less chance of damamage or loss (as it can be backed up) and better quality. Seems like a pretty hands down win really..

Better quality? oO Never. Even with a "lossless" file, you don't get the same quality. IF the vinyl isn't broken, that is.

Edit: Yes, the OP is right.

Vinyl sounds much better, and there's nothing better than slapping on a record when you're throwing a party. Anybody who tries to claim that vinyl is portable, however, is deluding themselves.

On the contrary, emos shopping at Hot Topic have increased sales for vinyl and it's making quite the comeback.

I love vinyl and purchase anything I can on the format, especially since the companies producing the new vinyls provide codes to DL the music digitally for your MP3-do-hickies.

Vinyl can survive a lot more radiation and microwaves than normal CD's, as was subtly mentioned in Fallout 3

I think this thread was determined by the first post.

Vinyl is interesting; I like the unique sound quality records provide.
I personally prefer anything I can (easily) transfer to my computer, though.
