So, after just having stumbled upon this shocker:

I just wanted to ask: The f*ck is going on here?

Last time I checked the hulk was defined by being fueled by rage and a lust for destruction.
This new iteration of the character so far has promo art that shows the Hulk as a less of a raging unstoppable force and more "green Dwayne "the ROCK" Johnson", down to the smirk and cocky eye-brow.

Has anything changed that I am not aware of, indicating that the Hulk is no longer fueled by Vengeance but by snarky comments, Joss-Wheadonisms and cocky self-centeredness?
Hell I even read somewhere (the internet, best source there is) that the new Hulk actually enjoys hulking out, wouldn't that make him more of a supervillain than a hero?

(Also the Hulk is asian now, but that's not the point here)

Kinda late dude, the first arc just concluded.

Pretty fun comic so far, and they do address the idea of Hulk being, well, Hulk.

Somehow he manages to keep the Hulk-ness under control, but there are a few times that he loses it and nearly breaks Florida or something. It's actually a persistent theme of the series, he insists on doing things his own way, in other words, not completely fucking destroying everything with brute strength. He instead uses his super big brain (they make a big show of him being smarter than Tony, Black Panther, and some other genius character) to solve problems, though as mentioned, sometimes it isnt enough.

I like basically everything you explained about the new character, except the "smarter than established genius" stuff which kinda reeks of Mary-Sue-ing

He's not a new character made for the role, he really just is that smart. He's supposedly the 7th smartest dude in the world (and that was when he was 15). He's not perfect of course. In fact:

<spoiler= Mild spoiler, nothing specific>It is his overconfidence in his intellect that causes him to become the Hulk, he makes a mistake in his calculations.

Oh, and his name is Amadeus Cho (how did I forget to mention his name till now?).

Throughout the long and bumpy history of comics, there has always been different variations of characters and the stories surrounding them. Whether they are best sellers or used to keep the door open on a hot day, letting the cool breeze in, this practice will never change so this isn't new.

*Female Californian voice*

"Mary Sue" was soooo three months ago. Catch up honey.

Okay, if you didn't even know the characters name until 10 seconds ago you probably don't know enough to comment on whether or not he's a Mary Sue.
Amadeus cho has existed since 2006 and i have hated him i think since 2010 cheers

My bad, I didn't see the THE in your post and thought you were freaking out about him being a Mary Sue because his name is Amadeus. Which would have made you look pretty foolish... Y'know if I wasn't the idiot here
hahaha no problem didnt even notice it could be missinterpreted XD, i have issues with cho since he appeared in a hulk (i think or might have been hercules) comic, seriously he was portraited a such a big gary stu ("Oh look im so fucking awesome and im only 15 ojojojojoj such awesome i am, o look all this awesome heroes fail under my great genius, i fixed all the issues ohohohohoho") that i wanted him to be killed (horribly if possible)
