Changes to Dark Souls Sequel

I just finished my new game+ in dark souls and thought, what better way to break up the monotony of all the Skyrim threads and ask what would those of us who've played dark souls change when From Software makes the next spiritual successor? (I'm hoping it's not a direct sequel anyways as I like taking the similar mechanics into different places)

Personally, I'd like to see them put the story more into the foreground. It was far too easy for people to go through the game without knowing precisely what they were doing all this for, and way too many people went "huh?" to the non-explanatory endings. Demon's Souls did a better job of this, but they somehow regressed in Dark Souls.

Class separation is also something of an issue, as regardless of what class you chose, most people end up with a fighter/mage combo. They might be better served by having a select group of stats, based on chosen class, automatically boosting themselves every time a character levels up. They can still retain the "level by currency" model, just have them choose from a group of secondary stats they wish to level up. This way, players can still modify their classes into hybrids, but without losing the identity of their primary class.

What do you think From should do differently next time around?

I think they should add full on co op instead of tiny little sessions where you help someone and then get plopped back into your own world.
Totally this.

I would love to trounce around with my partner in the next "Souls" game. For some, it would kill the experience, but you wouldn't HAVE to let someone into your world.

More of it.
Dark Souls was great fun, but it just ends too quickly. If you know what you're doing, it's not a particularly long game.
