Anyone know a way to change a game's resolution without opening the game? I seemed to have forgotten that when you change Black Hawk Down to 1600x1200 (for me at least), it crashes on start up... Tried uninstalling/reinstalling and it still seems to crash... Also tried running the 640x480 compatibility... No luck there either...

I personally don't have Black Hawk Down, but usually on the launch menu, there should be an options button that allows you to change the resolution before you launch the game cilent. If not, then you'll have to wait for a more computer savvy person to answer your question.

Sometimes you can alter a config file (.cfg (?)) - Open up the game folder and rummage, but before you edit make a copy. It's a different story with different games.

With some games you can change things like resolution or enable the console by using the command prompt. Or by opening the properties of the shortcut to the game and adding something in the target line.

Something like this: C:\Program Files\Games\Black Hawk Down\bhd.exe -w 640 -h 480 (just an example of what it could look like)
