EDIT: What's this MM I'm seeing on loads of peoples avatars?
It's March Mayhem mayhem. To get pumped for this Escapist event, a lot of people are getting their avatars edited to include the signature MM.
Thanks, here's me thinking MM = Multi Media or Millimetre.

Don't worry, mine's worse. Until very recently I thought that whenever people put ME in these forums I thought they were referring to Windows ME, not Mass Effect.

I've repeatedly had to google tons of acronyms, all the jargon just flies over my head. For example World Of Warcraft when anyone ever mentioned that with 'wow' I thought they were just surprised until I realised it made little sense and goggled it. I really do hate acronyms, should only be used when you have limited room or you're paying for words. (so avatars and mobile phones are fine)

OT: If Blane is your name then it's okay, though I'm not a fan of the 123 shows other people have the same name. Could always do the first two letters of your names so if you're a Blane Andrew Smith you would be Blansm, sounds a bit dodgy but you get the idea, that's how I came up with Jalugi.

Edit After posting this I just saw the irony, I'm such a hypocrite.

For certain games, names like "An angry mob" or "Bbout 10 bees" work well. So everyone reads "Laserizer was killed by an angry mob" or "About 10 bees killed awesomegasm". I find these names funny, but you might think that idea isn't original enough.

Make it a proper, original name. Not a descriptor, not a nounverber, no decorative symbols, no numbers unless ordinal and so on. That is what creates good reactions.

If you call yourself any of those dumbshit "XxLIx LogiiIKz", "iTz M4GiiKzZz" etcetera etcetera it would be wise to break your 360 right now.

I hate those names and how the people who use them think they're so damn professional, when most of them are either stunningly average or not good at all.

Just try and find something that you like. Don't try and sound "pro" or anything, or you're unfit to live.

(I apologise for the slight rant)
It's almost like you saw the thoughts in my head and made them make sense in forum-post format. +1 to you good sir.

Anyway, on topic, take note of the quote above and make sure to stick with something others can remember (or shorten in games to make communication that bit easier). Mine is Richardson87, which pretty much always gets shortened to 'Rich' in game, for example.

Alternatively, endure the Gamertag and use the 800 points (if this is still how much it costs?) to buy some lovely XBLA games instead :D

Prefrebly don't bother, it isn't worth the money, or if you do change it, anything without the word Snipes and Pro in it, along with numbers for letters and hundreds of X's. And make it original, follow those steps and it'll be fine with the majority of Live users above twelve years old.

Something that reflects your personality: so not your real name, or numbers or anything else that is not really representative of what you're about.

Indeed you can, most of them are 400/800 with a few priced at 1200. Have a mooch through the game marketplace and see if anything catches your eye. I'd be amazed if something doesn't!

Peggle is 800 MSP for example :D
