Darth Cruxis.

Prince just makes me think of Michael Jackson's kid, and the other three are obscure enough they could almost pass for normal. so go with Darth, 'cos if you're really going to do this then no half measures.

As a fan of FF8 I'm voting Seifer Almasy.

Also I changed my name a few years ago, and I think it's great that we don't have to be stuck with the names our parents gave us.

I have the same concerns with the first name prince, but I likely wouldn't ever introduce myself as prince without Vegeta straight after it.

I would either say my name is Vegeta or Prince Vegeta but not simply prince.

I would advise against changing your name to something from that list. There is a very real risk of making yourself unemployable, any job application with those names on it will look like a joke and be filed in the bin. Also any hope of finding members of whatever you sex you are attracted to with name is somewhere around zero with those names.
Lets be honest though, what's the worst that could happen? The OP can always change his name again if he regrets his choice down the line.

OT: Don't listen to the naysayers Whatislove, this idea is great! My votes are:

1) Prince Vegata

2) Mithos Yggdrasill

The second one was a close match with Darth Cruxis but eventually the world tree won out.
What's the worse that can happen? Well apart from my first post, how about impairing your credit record or ending any chance of working in job that has any kind of background check. How many banks do you think will employ you if it turns out that you changed your name to Darth Cruxis? Changing your name leaves a permanent mark in the records that will follow you for the rest of your life.

At first I thought this was a terrible idea but you seem to have it figured out dude. If you're sure it won't have any negative impacts, I'd go with Vegeta. Star wars references are too mainstream, maaan.

Sounds really stupid, about as stupid as me changing my name to "Negative, Nancy." A, no-hoper who knows me is gonna call me that after the initial 5 seconds of laughter, B, it just seems very attention seek-y and of course you're taking a big risk for a silly gaffe
.

But ah well, whatever floats your boat.

Oh and Darth.

These are all awful name ideas. I mean, I understand if you want to change your name, but at least pick something that's kind of serious, something that won't make people immediately burst into hysterics

I mean Darth? Prince? C'mon dude. You can do better than that

You sound like one of those people who never does anything interesting out of fear for some future scenario which could be somewhat easily worked around by anyone with half sense and a modicum of determination.

This is 2013, not 1993. I'm sure that even if he got fired from his currently respected job position, he would have no problem finding another job due to his odd name choice. The world is evolving, come with us.

As for my vote for which name, well, I actually don't like any of the names you picked. I've long thought about changing my name as well, but these names are out there. I guess I'll go with Legato Kaiba.

yeah, pretty much summed up all my thoughts there. if you change it to any of those, best case scenario is you only get the piss taken out of you a couple of times. worst case is forever alone, forever unemployed and constantly having the piss taken out of you, by everyone.

initial reactions aside, if you hate your name so much, why not just change it, but to something normal? calling yourself any of those names just sounds a bit like attention seeking

Out of your... interesting options I'd say number 3 Siefer Almasy, because its the only one that doesn't sound completely silly. Though in honesty Almasy is a pretty horrendous last name, I like Siefer though[footnote]As long as you pronounce it like 'Scyther'![/footnote]. Please, for the sake of anyone who associates themselves with you, don't call yourself 'Prince Vegeta'.

There is nothing wrong with changing your name but none of them are that great to be honest. I wouldn't recommend any of them. But if you really are going to pick one then go for Seifer Almasy.

Impairing my credit record? I don't know what kind of non-connected country you live in but once a change of name is approved and completed the register of births, marriages and deaths informs VEDA of the change so your current credit file is transferred to the new name. (In Australia at least)

Also, any job that required me to take a background check would require me to answer the very common question "Have you ever been known by any other name?".. and then the background check would include any records that related to both my new and old name.. and both would turn up nothing.

Like hooblabla said, this is 2013, not 1993 - Records are kept in computers now as well as filing cabinets.

Commenting on a couple of other things showing up in the thread.

I really don't mind the laughs I'll get for a few of them, I'd probably relish them - I'm not quite sure what some of you mean by "You can do better than that", I thought I explained in the OP that I'm a super nerd and all the names mean at least something to me.

I didn't choose the first name prince because I like the name prince, I think it's stupid, I chose the name Vegeta but needed a full name, for which Vegeta has none, he only has a title which is Prince - So Prince Vegeta is the name choice, not prince and as explained earlier, I would introduce myself as Vegeta or Prince Vegeta but not prince by itself;
You have to think of the big picture.

Vegeta means the most to me of all the names, I first saw dragonball z when I was about 7 and I have obsessed over the character Vegeta for the last 15 years, My apartment is a venerable shrine to vegeta, I have over 500 items between all memorabilia, posters, figures, statues, models, cards, collectables and promo stuff that include vegeta. My entire left forearm is covered by a Vegeta tattoo with others including the saiyan royal symbols on other parts of my body.

So people thinking Prince Vegeta is stupid or laughing at it really don't affect me at all.

Is there any ryhme or reason behind the particular pairings? How about Prince Almasy? Might give you a headstart to get those billions of your family's fortune out of Nigeria.

Have some people just never seen Dragonball Z before?

Do people really think I just randomly paired the first name Prince with the last name Vegeta?

Vegeta is the Saiyan prince, he is the Prince of all Saiyans, he is Prince Vegeta - That is his title and name, he uses it often.

2 of the other names are exact to the character they are from;
Darth Cruxis is paired because Darth is a sith title that is followed by your sith name, Cruxis is a name that hasn't been used with the Darth title and I like cruxis and tales of symphonia.

The last pairing was simply because I didn't want Seto Kaiba as first and last because Seto definitely has an eastern culture feel and is a common japanese name and although I would have considered Legato's full name, Legato Bluesummers, I just didn't like it as much as legato kaiba.

It seems like you aren't listening to the naysayers, and have already considered the negative implications. GOOD ON YOU!!

My first vote would definitely be Mithos Yggdrasill, because it's damn awesome, and hey, apparently it's a tree of life, which is also pretty awesome.

Second would be Legato Kaiba, because I love Legato, and Kaiba from YGOTAS is really fucking funny. (Legato Bluesummers... Gods I love that name...)

Might aswell call yourself Shitstain Asshole and walk around caked in mud.
Sounds like a cry for attention. However, if you want the label of "nerd" to be carried with you and define your life, be my guest. In my eyes, you'd look like a total tool, sorry.

If I renamed myself ,however, I'd probably call myself Maximal Fistfuck.

Just go with Rip Torn and be done with it.

... What?... I love that name. And him. He's awesome. And so were his parents.

Might I suggest psychiatric evaluation?

And no, I'm not suggesting that as a name.
