Really? Most of the Muslim names I've heard are beautiful. Why not try a Muslim name that you just like better? That way you won't piss off your mom and still hold onto your heritage

This is not a bad idea. Many names translate into the kind of hippie names that I heard regularly growing up (e.g., dawn, lichen, fawn, darshan, etc...). Perhaps you could be creative with using synonyms of the translations of your names.
