Changing Your Avatar

I've changed my avatar once since I started my account and that was only because someone else had the same picture.
I change it once every couple of months. It just changes with what I like at the time. It was...something...And then I changed it to a Chibi Necron Warrior with a butterfly on it''s head, and now it's Soundtrack Legend Frank Klepacki and his Vengeance guitar.

Used to be once or twice a month, or at least until I find one I'm comfortable with. I had this one for a few months now, I might change it again when I find another one.
I try not to change mine - i find it annoying when others do as I tend to skim names and use avatars as references for people so on boards I visit regularly (unlike this one) someone changing their avatar is akin to changing their face - just doesn't look like your friend anymore and take me time to get used to it again.
I've changed my avatar the grand total of 2. Yeah. My first one was a Mudkip because that was the only image on my computer that was under the image size and didn't suck. After a few months I decided to change it, and thus my bf:bc2 grenade was wrought from the darkest volcano surrounded by the dangerous orcs and goblins in the southern continent afar from all civilization and the only method of going there was by paddling with a small canoe for 3 days and night non-stop through The Ocean. Yep, it was actually that epic.
I will do it every couple years so that people have something visually to associate me with without getting confused every couple months from a random change. The personality one emits online I associate with their avatar and when someone changes it, it is a little disconcerting.
I used to have a picture of Vincent from Dirge of Cerberus because it look good. Now I have this kinda logo/album art thing of some singer/artist/band I don't know.
This is the second time I had change it and I not expecting to change it anytime soon. My first one was just my Guild Wars characters face which sort of look dull to some people.
A month ago I became a brony and I was looking at some funny MLP:FiM images and gif and stumble onto the one I currently using. The image was more colourful and vibrates and as well a gif (I wanted a gif image).

Only for holidays, otherwise most people probably wouldn't recognise me. Plus I love MC Hammer

Last time I changed my avatar was April, last year. Changed it to a different version of this one for a special occasion.
But I've been on this avatar, except for the alternate version which was for less than a day, since late 2009.
So... not very often. I can't change my avatar. Otherwise I can never get it back.
