Chaos Rising Issues

So I play this game fine for a week and it one day decided it wasnt going to work ever again. The game has been crashing frequntly and radomly and one mission im stuck on wont start because it said thier was a scar error or something. This is unacceptable, I paid for this game and I expect it to work right out of the box without any effort becides installing it on my part. I bought the game on steam and have windows 7. I dont know if its the laptop or the game. Please help.

I assume you're talking about Dawn of War 2?
Does the original function properly?
Can I have the exact specs on your laptop?

Now I'm no computer buff, but simply try Googling the error. Try 'scar error Chaos Rising' or something. That's what I do, anyway; it works about 99% of the time haha.

Try reinstalling it if nothing comes up? Hope you can get it sorted.

The game relies on Steamworks so unless he turned off the auto-update feature he will have the most recent patch for the game.

That said, the error in question is a problem (or rather a fatal error) of the game's scripting engine (the thing that makes ambient world events happen for example). These are incredibly rare except in instances of a corrupted install.

Do you have any mods installed? I know mods for skirmish/multiplayer often screw up single player and vice versa.
