Ultrajoe was going to make a topic like this, but never did. So PurpleRain swoops down to loose yet another massive chunck of his dignity.

First thing's first however:

I do NOT want to see anything or hear anything about Rule 34!
I do NOT want you to talk about King Kong's Wang size.
I do not want this to turn into some sex fest of all your childhood heroes.
I do NOT want to know how well Snake does it in the sack nor any Snake jokes for that matter.
I do NOT want this to go over a PG limit.

Thank you. Any stupid remarks that seep into 4-Chan territory will be reported on site. Just a saftey procaution. And Mods, this is for just a little fun. No harm no foul.

Moving on, this is a thread that disscuss not about whatever character's sex life, but more generally what sexuality they are. A sort of 'shattering of children's dreams' kind of thing.

it spawned off a successful little topic to try and work out the sexuality of Yoshi. It can't be male, though it could be A-Sexual or even Female. Perhaps it's a different species of animal where the males can produce eggs?!

I also once made a topic disscussing the fact if Snake was homosexual. I was flamed, stonned and nailed to the cross. I still hear a lot of 'Snake is gay' jokes all around the place, so evidence still stands.

Is Godzilla male or female? I mean the big lug get's a son at one point but at no time do you see the mother or anything?! Perhaps it's evolved from the same speices as Yoshi, though grown larger due to nuclear radiation.

Also, Big Daddies. How do we know that they're all guys in those suits? Some are called Rosies and carry a gun around. Does that mean if you are female and turned into a Big Daddy, you're only allowed a gun instead of a drill?

Well I feel bad admitting it, as I've grown up quite a bit since then, but in Fable I always punched the male villagers with hearts over their heads.
To be fair I punched almost everyone in Fable, but it honestly bothered me that the dudes were in love with me (note: I was 16 at the time, please don't hate me)

P.S.S Dont know if that was above the "PG" limit, but I for one think that opening a thread like this to your guidlines is gonna FAIL!!! Like those segments on AOTS.
PG as in not disscussing the fine details of how a Kurby mates.

Perhaps they were just star struck.

The only thing that's weird in Fable, everyone seems to be bisexual. You can do it with any man or woman. Don't they get a say in it? Maybe the game's sexist on that topic or trying to avoid it all together.

Yeah that's probably right... Well now I feel like a right bastard.
Villager: "Chicken Chaser, you're so awesome!"
Chicken Chaser: "How dare thee? Prepare to be punched vile creature!"
Villager: "But... but you're my hero!"

Dammit I feel really mean...

And now supposedly you can have sex with animals in Fable 2, so any animals walking around with hearts over their heads are in for a serious pounding.
Uh... the type of pounding that uses fists.
Uh... the type of pounding that uses fists that doesn't have any sexual overtones.

Japanese cartoons often seem to have sexually ambiguous characters. The first one that comes to mind is Big Cheese from Samurai Pizza Cats. He has a very effeminate voice and quite often dresses in women's clothes and wears lipstick. I guess that's what made him hilarious, as he was supposedly the leader of the bad guys. Then you had Zoltar in G-Force who was technically a hermaphrodite. Very confusing when you're trying to keep track of things as a kid.

In regard to the Big Daddies, I don't think it's ever explicitly said that they are all male. The Little Sisters are attracted by the artificial pheromone the Big Daddies secrete and are conditioned at birth that the lumbering giants in diving suits are their friends. Also

When Jack undergoes the process of becoming a Big Daddy, he can't attract them until he looks, sounds and smells like one. It doesn't mention anything about gender (although Jack is male). Given Jack was genetically modified at birth he would physically already be up to Big Daddy standard

Isn't one of the guys from Enchanted Arms gay? Makoto right? He hits on one of the other party members a lot and is always bitching about the fact that he's straight.

Of course. There's nothing stopping any female going through the same preocess. That's why I'm wondering about the name Rosie. Bouncer sounds like what he is. A big guy with a drill for an arm would make the best Bouncer's of all. But why Rosie? Unless they were women.

You do realise that that's what Japanese girls like? And, given what tends to end up in western boy bands, this is not unique to Japan.

Why do you even care about this?

Ok, the Godzilla thing is actually more of a bad story if you ask me. He is supposed to be male (or was supposed to be, i don't know), but when they gave him his son, they kinda forgot to include a mother. So i think he is supposed to be male, but it can be female too.

I don't thin godzilla had an official gender or anything, so they just left it for the viewer to decode.

And about the Big Daddies. I don't think Rosies are supposed to be female. And that's probably not how they are supposed to be called in that universe, it is just a nickname that the little sisters gave them.

And i think there was a pro wrestler called Rosie. Rosie is one of those names that can go both for a girl and a boy (sorta...). ANd what about Bubbles? The first Big Daddie you see in the games is called Bubbles.

These names are just cute nicknames for the Bid Daddies, given by the Sisters. I don't think they really mean that some are supposed to be female or anything.

And besides, those little sisters were attracted to the big daddies with hormones. I don't think it makes sense for them to be attracted by female hormones. And again, why would you wonder about the sexuality of a big daddie? They are a abunch of brutes in rubber suits who kick your ass with a drill (or a gun). Why would you even think about their sexuality?

Seriously, topics like this are the reason I don't read these forums anymore.

It's taken from Rosie the riveter.... A women in an ad campaign in WW2 to get women to work. and since this one uses a rivet gun....

Yoshi, she is a lesbian.
My reasoning is as follows:

A) Yoshi lays eggs; therefore Yoshi must be female
B) Birdo has been described as Yoshi's girlfriend: therefore Yoshi is attracted to girls
C) From A) and B), Yoshi must be lesbian. Or at least bi.

Although this is pulled into question by D) Yoshi insisting that she is male and E) Birdo being described at various times as an extremely effeminate male and outright female.

D) is rather simple: Yoshi is a lier
E) Is also deceptively simple: Birdo was a man, underwent surgery, is now a woman.

As for other characters, Link is almost certainly gay.

1) Whenever he travels with anyone, it's with a girl (Apart from Minish Cap and Wind Waker; in both cases he is too young to do anything anyway), and the vast majority of his friends are girls (Zelda, Saria, Malon, Midna Navi, Tatl, Ruto, Romani, Cremia, Anju, Ilia and Telma off the top of my head) and yet he is still a virgin (to my knowledge)

2) Despite blatant advances from Malon, Ruto (both of whom offer to MARRY him), Ilia, Telma and Saria, he does not act on any feelings he may have, and in fact is frequently seen running in the opposite direction.

3) His attire.

Note that this is primarily referring to the adult Links of OoT and TP, although you can see homosexual (or at least gynophobic) tendencies in OoT Link's child form

I drew the same conclusion as you. It is interesting that the Rosies rely on ranged combat and if you charge them, they will back away rather than melee you. A more feminine approach than the Bouncer who tries to drill-rape you with gusto. But then I guess he is "equipped" for it.

There were about three other Big Daddy models I think that were dropped during the games development. I wonder if any of them had more feminine names?

EDIT - Thanks for the explanation Smallharmlesskitten!

I forgot that you get those hormons from bottles, you don't really need to be male to have them. But still, I don't think the name Rosie means anything. (well someone said that there was a women from a WW2 poster named Rosie).Just a cute nickname. It kinda makes them more scary when they have drills and guns and are trying to kill you, while being called "Bubbles" or "Rosie" by those little sisters.

And again, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU BOTHERED BY SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

"But why Rosie?". Who cares? Why would you care?

That is so amazingly true it hurts.

Good work.
